I had been meaning to type up my baby friendly Mallorca travel guide last year, but other mum duties and what not kept cropping up.
Anyway, I have a few hours to myself this evening to write (A rarity these days).
My guide will hopefully be helpful to any new parents wanting to travel abroad, but wanting to test the waters first with a short haul flight. I’ll also include some plane tips, what to pack for your baby, some mum outfits and some general chit chatter.
So without further ado.
Joe, Alessia (my 3 month old at the time) and I travelled to Mallorca in late September, 2025. We stayed at the dreamy and incredible Ikos Porto Petro.
The flight there and back was no problem what-so-ever. It was around 2-3 hours from London Luton airport and our little one was as good as gold on the plane!
If you’re considering Mallorca, other parts of Spain or another 2-3 hour flight to Europe with your little one, I’d say it’s the best decision you’ll ever make! Especially when they are so little! Baby sleeps most of the time, you’re in the warm sun, food and drinks at your feet and you’ll come home relaxed and refreshed as new parents!

Tips for the flight.
Change your little one’s nappy before the flight and feed as you’re taking off, as well as a feed during landing.
The baby carrier will be your best friend at the airport, through security and onto the plane.
Also, I know you can request bassinet’s for the flight, but we didn’t as Alessia was strapped to my belt and slept in my arms mostly all the way there and back.
For wake windows, we read her favourite books and had some stick-on-the-window spinning toys that we bought on Amazon. We did also wander up and down the plane a fair few times.
My only concern was it was super hot on the plane before take-off, so my little girl was wearing just a vest.

Overall the flights were great. 2.5 hours flew by and it was so easy to do with a three month old.
It was also great to see so many other babies and children on the plane, so we felt less alone. We were all mostly seated towards the front of the plane.
All families got priority to go on the plane first.
What to pack for the little one:
Car seat and stroller – if you prefer your own ones.
Travel cot – if hotel doesn’t provide.
Milton tablets for sterilizing bottles.
Baby bottles.
Baby formula – you can bring on plane, but everything will be scanned at security.
Plane toys, spinners are great.
Light, breathable vests, rompers, sleep-suits.
Cute baby outfits for dinner in the evenings.
Packing cubes for ease of organization in suitcase.
Nappies!
Muslins.
Swimming cossie.
Inflatable pool and armbands.
Shaded tent.

Baby Wipes and nappy bin-bags.
Portable fan – didn’t need to use much, but handy to have.
Snooze shade for pram – lifesaver for super hot days!
Plane bag with packing cubes – essentials like nappies, change of clothes, formula etc.
Baby carrier.
Baby Robe (optional).

Sun hat.
Incase of any illnesses – saline drops, snot sucker, Calpol.
Baby passport.
Pram travel bag.
SPF (for babies above 6 months+).
Breathable blanket.
Thoughts on Ikos.
I will say Ikos holidays are incredibly expensive. However, they are 100% worth the money.
It’s honestly so good that I’ve paid for another Ikos holiday this year. And, it’s worth noting that I never really do all inclusive holidays, but this is pure luxury and the ultimate relaxation time for you, your partner and your little ones.
If you haven’t heard of Ikos, they are a luxury all inclusive resort that are great for families.

I had heard nothing but great things about Ikos from other parents, hence why we decided to bite the bullet and book with them.
And, well, babies get to travel and stay for free up until the age of two, so we are making the most of it, ha.
Anyway in September last year, I was three months post-partum, I didn’t give a shiz about my post-birth-body and was like sod it, let’s go on hols.
And it was hands down the best decision we made!
Let me dive into the details of why Ikos was so great, and then we can discuss the practicality of what to bring for your little one.
Ikos kindly sorted out our transportation when we arrived at the airport, we travelled in style in some large black vehicle – the fancy Mercedes type, if I’m remembering correctly. They also provided a baby car-seat, however, we did bring our Nuna one along for peace of mind and used this as it had better head support for our three month old.
When we arrived at Porto Petro, the security was on another level, so it’s no surprise why the likes of footballers and celebrities stay here. And on that note we did see one Arsenal player in one of the Deluxe dining areas, but Joe and I are not the type of people to go over and say hi.
Anyway! Once we had made it through reception, we were kindly greeted and offered drinks. They then told us they had upgraded us to a Deluxe beach suite.

Oh my word! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! The suite was amazing. The view was insane. Plus all of the amazing perks that come with the Deluxe package.
I got a free beach bag which I actually used every day. And there were so many other perks, such as the staff would WhatsApp me every day and if I had any enquires and they would sort pronto.

I’d heard booking dinner reservations can be a bit of a faff with Ikos. Apparently they get booked up in advance, however, it wasn’t an issue for us, they booked us in all the restaurants when we arrived via WhatsApp and their Ikos App.

Another amazing thing is you can travel reasonably light because Ikos provide a lot of baby items, from strollers, to cots, to sterilizers to baby baths. You name it, they will have it.
You just need to give them a heads up in advance.

Some other reasons why we enjoyed the holiday so much… was of course… the food! Think luxury fine dining paired with gorgeous luxury wines.
I’m not a drinker and haven’t drank alcohol in years, however, on hols I like a glass of wine or two.
Every meal we had was cooked to perfection. Room service was incredible too.

They also had an incredible gym and spa, which I used a little bit, but wish I had used it more.
Joe and I had to take turns, as one of us was looking after Alessia.

Another perk we got was to hire a Tesla around the island for the day. I think this may be part of the Deluxe package only. However, we enjoyed our little day out exploring some local beaches.

Mum Outfits I wore.
Comfort was key. I fully embraced that I had just given birth via c-section and that my belly was her home for 9 months. And on that note, women’s bodies are incredible aren’t they!
I digress. What I packed in my case: lots of linen, plain tops, jumpsuits, shorts and a maxi skirt.

Switching back to my thoughts on Mallorca. Would I go back?
YES! There were a lot of areas that I didn’t get a chance to explore. For example I would love to stroll around Palma. I would also love to go back to that particular Ikos branch as it was incredible.
We have actually booked another Ikos holiday and I really do hope it lives up to our exceptions of the Mallorca one.

Anyway! Three months into parenthood and this was a real treat. As new parents my husband and I felt relaxed and rejuvenated when we came back. My only gripe was I wish we booked for 10 days instead of 5.
So, if you’re thinking of traveling to Mallorca with a baby, hopefully I’ve convinced you! Honestly the flight felt like half an hour and the holiday was pure bliss.
Things are slightly on the challenging side for me and Joe now, as our little one is on the move. However, I said to myself that I wouldn’t stop traveling even if I had a baby! But I completely understand the fear of traveling for new parents.
I think once you bite the bullet and do it, you’ll want to book 10 more holidays. Or perhaps that’s just me, haha!
I love the photos, just look at baby Alessia! <3 So glad you had a terrific first trip with your baby, looking forward to more stories from you! <3
