Pregnancy Safe Skincare & Make-up Bits I’m Loving

My skin has been in some dire need of deep hydration lately. So, I’ve branched out from just using ESPA products, which I wrote a post on a little while ago if you’re interested.

I’m in the final stages of pregnancy, heading towards my third trimester and the brands that caught my attention were Summer Fridays, Erborian, Avene and Glossier.

I have carefully researched every single product that I have recently purchased as pregnancy skincare and make-up can be so confusing. Although I was super gutted to find out my Bondi Sands Face SPF 50+ isn’t pregnancy safe as it’s a “chemical sunscreen”. I had been using this for years and through-out pregnancy, so I have ordered some pregnancy safe SPF’s to try and I will write about them in due course!

Any who… I’ll start with the pregnancy safe skincare products that I’ve been loving, then move onto some new make-up additions.

Summer Fridays recently launched a Jet Lag Essentials kit on SPACENK, which I had been meaning to try. I’m a big fan of the Summer Fridays lip-balms, so I thought I’d give some of the skincare a go.

The kit includes the Jet Lag Mask, Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum Sachet, Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum, Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist, and one pair of Jet Lag Eye Patches.

It’s early days as I’ve only had these products a week, however, out of the kit I love the Jet Lag Skin Soothing Hydration Mist, Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum and the Jet Lag Mask is pretty good. I’ve heard amazing things about the eye patches, but haven’t tried them yet! I will report back.

Avene is a brand I’ve heard good things about also but haven’t tried until now. I purchased two moisturisers: Hydrance and Tolerance. Hydrance is more lightweight of the two and is a great moisturiser, however I have been reaching for Tolerance Hydra-10 more as I find that one is really hydrating.

I did purchase one more ESPA product which was the Yuzu & Ginger Cleansing Sorbet. Oh my gosh, this smells freaking amazing! I really really love the texture of this cleansing balm, it’s quite jelly-like but feels buttery smooth on the skin and cleanses off my make-up beautifully with a cloth. I will definitely re-purchase when I’m no longer pregnant.

Moving on to my new make-up additions.

I had never tried anything from Glossier before and there has been a HUGE hype around this brand from Influencers I follow.

I purchased the coconut balm dotcom and a black eye pencil. The coconut balm dotcom is really lovely to use and makes my lips super hydrated and soft, however, the black eye pencil on the other hand is utterly rubbish. I can’t seem to get any of the black on my water-line! So, I will be sticking with my Victoria Beckham eye pencils in the future.

I love Korean skincare brands, they seem to be doing skincare and make-up just right, as well as this I’ve heard a lot of fuss over the Erborian CC creams on Instagram.

I’ve been using the CC Red Correct as it’s the only one that is pregnancy safe, the other CC creams Erborian sell aren’t pregnancy safe sadly.

I blooming adore this though! It’s honestly SO good, it covers my redness SO well and I feel so confident just popping out with this on my face. It certainly perfects the face and I have become CC cream obsessed that I want to purchase all of the CC creams, but I’ll perhaps wait until I’ve given birth!

Other than those brands I have mentioned above, not pictured but worth mentioning is the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil and Tummy Rub Butter that I use for my belly. I’ve been using these every day to try and prevent stretch marks and so far, so good, no stretch marks! I actually started using them straight away when I was just two-three weeks pregnant and have continued to do so and I’m now 27 weeks pregnant!

And, I know my belly will be doing the most expanding during the third trimester, but I will keep on using the oil and butter until the very end.

If you have any pregnancy safe skincare or make-up recommendations for me or for my lovely readers to try, do leave any suggestions below in the comments as they are super helpful.

I hope you’re having a lovely day or evening, what-ever time you read this! Catch up with you all soon, I’m hoping to write some more beauty content as I really have missed talking all things beauty. There will also be more pregnancy content, London content and life-styley stuff over the next few months. Ciao ciao.

Hi thanks for your post it is really helpful!:) I just wondered where you found out about the Eborian cream being safe for pregnancy? I have recently just purchased it and didn’t cross my mind to check if it was safe or not… I’ve had a look around and can’t find anywhere where it says it is safe!

Hi Charlotte, thanks for commenting :). I googled each item individually. For example “Eborian CC cream pregnancy safe” and it listed a bunch of ingredients that were or weren’t pregnancy safe on some websites. I remember some of the Eborian CC creams have chemical sunscreens or something in them. But the CC Red Correct is pregnancy safe apparently. xx
