I hope everyone has had a wonderfully joyful Christmas and is looking forward to the new year! I’m really looking forward to 2025. It’s going to be a special year with the little one arriving in the Summer.
Any who, I last wrote about my little pockets of happiness in October. So, I thought I was due another one!
Let’s roll back to October… I took my mum out for afternoon tea for her birthday at this lovely little place in Berkhamsted, saw the northern lights from my back garden, treated myself to Flourish Bakery once or twice, flew to Madrid for a little break and craved Honest Greens every single day! I found out I was pregnant a week before my birthday, went to a gothic wedding on my actual birthday and had small family celebrations at Black Goo in Tring.

November arrived with a quick trip to Bath for my birthday, followed by lots of Autumnal walks, pregnancy scans, snow days and putting up the Christmas decor! We did go out for another afternoon tea, however, just me and Joe this time at The Tea Tree which was really nice! I was gifted the afternoon tea for my birthday from Joe’s dad and Tracey.

The festivities began with a Christmas lights walk at Kew Gardens with my mum on the 1st December. A Christmas manicure, tasty Christmas meals out down our local, a friends Christmas meal, pizza cravings from the Loading Bay, battered halloumi at the Harvester, 12 week scan, announcing the news to everyone, doughnut time doughnuts and celebrating and hosting Christmas with my family. We did have some sad news towards Christmas, that our beloved family pet Boris had passed away, he was such a sweet boy but had a great life – living until the age of 15 and a half.
Bouncing back to some joyful moments because I don’t want to feel sad about Boris no longer being here.

We went back to Joe’s home-town for a few days following on from Christmas. Lots of games played, a Boxing Day buffet, brunch out with the family and pizza cravings (again) when we came back.

Yesterday, 16 of us had our annual family meal at my local. It was delicious! I went for the roast chicken and lindt chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

In other news I’ve been loving Ted Lasso – binge watched three seasons in a couple of days, also loved watching a documentary about the Planets on BBC iPlayer (Brian Cox) and still making my way through Gilmore Girls very slowly.
I haven’t watched a lot of films, however, I watched Dune part 1 and 2 the other day again, I think they are my favourite sci-fi films! I did watch Joy on Netflix – that was a lovely watch about IVF.
I also need to get back into reading – I was half way through the ACOTAR books but I’ve been a little distracted by my pregnancy.
Any who, I am off to make some home-made tempeh meatballs with spaghetti – it’s what the baby and I are craving today. I hope everyone has a fantastic start to the new year. Let’s make 2025 a goodun’.
What a dreamy couple of months! Hope you have a lovely, restful NYE celebration! x
