I’ve been so erratic with my blogging schedule this year. I was supposed to do a celebratory post for my blog’s 9th birthday on the 9th September, but I’ve had zero time sadly.
Life be life-ing as usual.
I’m a little worried that Autumn and Winter are some of my busiest upcoming months too.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank-you to all of you that still read my blog and also to those who are kind to leave comments.
I’ve met some amazing blogging friends online over the years. It’s just really lovely to have similar interests on the inter-webs. It’s also really great to have a platform where I can chat about anything and everything.
By the way, I’m free-styling this post this afternoon, not sure what direction it will go in. Probably going to be a catch up type of post. Although there is SO much I want to write about, from a range of beauty, foodie-related, spa and health-related reviews. As well as some life-style topics. I just NEED to make time for writing because I do love it and I feel so happy and relaxed when I write.
I have around an hour to myself today, before I need to head on out for a very luxurious 12-course Thai meal to celebrate mine and my husband’s ‘officially in a relationship’ date. It’s been 13 years at the end of September. Or is it 14? I lose count sometimes… Anyway, I’m super excited. It’s very indulgent but Joe and I rarely go out on ‘date evenings’ or even have full on ‘date-days’, so yes, super exciting.
In other news, I’ve started a whole set of medical appointments and investigations at the start of September. Some IVF investigations are being pushed back because of some annoying cysts I have, as well as this, I now have a fibroid above my only surviving ovary. So, will find out if we can proceed on my next up-coming scan. It’s something to do with the IVF medication having a negative effect on cysts, so I think they are just waiting for the buggers to disappear. And then other health-related appointments to juggle too.
Some good news to share with you all, I’ve lost 19.5 pounds since December 2022 which I’m super chuffed about.
I still have a LONG way to go to be at my ideal weight, but, as they say… baby steps. I’m not strict at all anymore, I treat myself when I feel like I want to, but mostly eat healthy and have increased exercise. I have also cut-out a lot of sugary things, which is quite unheard of for me.
As well as this, I started ice-cold-bath-therapy last month. I don’t do it every-day, but it’s been so great. Joe has been using it too on the odd occasion. I’ve had a lot of questions in real life about the health benefits of ice-bath’s, so I can chat about this in another post, if any-one is interested.
Also started Reformer Pilates a few months ago. I love it!
Other than health-related things, I have been enjoying ‘The Morning Show’ on Apple TV, I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to watch it! I’m near the end of Season 1. It has been incredible. I’ve watched a few docu-series and films on Netflix too. Live to 100 on Netflix was super interesting. How to change your mind was very weird but quite an eye-opener. The Founder was interesting too. Joe and I are making our way through the Arnold documentary. I finished At Home With the Fury’s and The Bear Season 1 as well.
We re-watched Dune part 1 as I believe Dune part 2 is coming out in early November. I also watched Pretty Woman for the first time at an outdoor cinema event with some lady friends last month. I love Julia Roberts, she is beautiful.
What else… Been in to London a few times. Joe and I walked from Euston to Marylebone, then to Camden on the last bank hols we had. Also walked from Camden back to Euston. Did around 23k steps that day. I might do a London blog post at some-point soon on some of the things we did. Also, we are heading into London again a few times over the next 4 months for up-coming celebrations and what not.
We also had some luxurious spa-days and I have had some beauty treatments at my local salons. I’ve been trying to sort my back out with regular massages.
Joe and I watched Friendly Fries perform at a special gig they did in St Albans. That was SO good!
Also, been out for lots of walks. Spending time with friends and family. Life admin… the usual really.
Trying to get back on the “me days” and to actually relax from time to time. I really struggle with relaxing and switching my brain off. But I am trying to. Joe put this ‘chill mode’ on my iPhone the other day, so I wouldn’t get any notifications for an hour. It has been helping massively with my anxiety and the need to constantly reply to emails, messages and answer phone-calls. As well as the constant notifications from socials. We may increase the ‘chill mode’ to two hours in a few weeks.
I think that’s all I have to report. I do actually need to get ready now and enjoy time spent with my super handsome and intelligent date for this evening. Arch is having a sleep-over at his granny A’s house. I will miss him of course, but Joe and I need some quality time together.
Congrats on 9 years of blogging, Zoey! Life can be busy, but your readers appreciate your content and the effort you put into it. Keep up the great work!

Thanks lovely. Amazing! When I think about it, I’ve been blogging over 16/17 years or so. I used to have Live Journal, Piczo, and Tumblr back in the day. Even had a few Blogspot accounts. But I created this blog 9 years ago.
Oh my, the Thai was delicious. And, thank you. I need to keep going, got a long way to go! Thank you. Hope you’re doing well. xx
Congratulations Zoey on 9 years of blogging and great job losing weight too, you have done very well! I hope all of your health appointments go well and sorry to hear about cysts and fibroids, such a pain. I am not sure I could go into an ice-cold bath! xx

Thank you lovely. I hope so too… just need to wait sadly. I was a bit unsure of an ice-cold baths at first, but I have cold showers occasionally, so I was fine with it. It is quite a shock once you get in, but it’s fine once you stay in for 10 mins or so. I need to get into more of a routine with it. Hope you’re doing ok! xx
Happy nine years of blogging, Zoey! No school like the old school 😉 I’m so glad to have made some incredible online friends through this community and even gladder to have kept at it. Last year when I was questioning my entire life, it was so lovely to read through the archives and remember all of the wonderful things that blogging has afforded me.
Hope you had a lovely anniversary meal! Thai cuisine is one of our favourites.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you with your appointments. I’m currently awaiting one for some scans as the GP thinks (finally, after almost seven months of constant appointments) that I may have fibroids. Lil bit anxious but the wait for the appointment is frustrating me more!

Thanks so much lovely. Haha deffo! Yeah, I think writing/blogging keeps me sane the majority of the time, so I don’t think I will ever give it up. Your blog is amazing, you have a true talent with writing, and like you say, lots of wonderful things to remember.
We did indeed! Thai 12 course was incredible! I will chat about it at some point in another blog post.
Thank you. Deffo feel the frustrations too, so annoying having to wait. Hope you get your seen soon! xx
Happy Blogiversary!
Congrats on the 13/14 years and hope you had a fabulous date! Well done on the weight loss because I know it isn’t easy with health problems – it sounds like you’re taking the best approach, which is lifestyle changes. I love t hear more about the cold water baths! x

Thanks lovely. Weird to think Joe and I have been together that long. We had a lovely evening. Thanks so much, it’s been really tough at times, but doing all I can. All will take time to get back to my ideal weight. Ok cool, I will write something up in the next few months. Hope you’re doing ok. xx
Congrats on 9 years of blogging Zoey! I think I had my 8 year one earlier this year! Time flies! Well done on the weightloss too, that is amazing! xx
