So, today I’m attempting to have a “me day” and doing all the things I enjoy. One of those things includes writing.
It’s actually near 2pm, where I’ve only just sat down to do some “me” things.
I’ve been meaning to share some haircare brands and products that I’ve been enjoying over the past six months or so. Those that I think are 100% worth the hype. So, I thought it would just be easier and more helpful to do a round-up post of everything haircare related.
My current hair style is naturally wavy/curly and I dye it ginger every couple of months. It’s fairly long at the moment. I don’t think it’s been this length, ever, in my life-time, until now.
As some of you may remember I suffered hair-loss after my major operations back in mid 2020. I tried a bunch of things to get it back to it’s original thickness. One of things I did… was taking biotin supplements every single day for a year or two. I no longer take them, but they were amazing for getting my hair back to how it was.
Anyway, I don’t style or use straighteners much anymore. The only hair tool I use regularly is my Dyson Airwrap – I mainly use the dryer when I wash my hair once or twice a week (I find washing my hair such a chore and it’s not good to wash it several times a week…). I will only style my hair if I’m going to a special event such as a wedding or big birthday celebration. I don’t think I’ve picked up my GHDs in 3 or so years.
Some stand-out products I’ve used recently…
Hair oils
Hair oils are amazing aren’t they?! I was super sad to finish my little pot of Charlotte Mensah Manketti Hair Oil that I got in one of my Liberty beauty drop boxes a while back. I do want to get my hands on the full-size at some point, however I bought the Kerastase Elixir Ultime L’Original Hair Oil a few weeks back and I’ve been enjoying that one. Although the Charlotte Mensah’s scent is so lovely and rich.
I’m just trying to be mindful with excessive beauty and hair products these days… using what I have first, before purchasing more.
Shampoos and Conditioners
So, there’s a few haircare brands I’m loving at the moment when washing my locks, shout-outs to L’oreal Elvive, Redken, Vegamour and Kerastase. I’m yet to try Kerastase shampos and conditioners, however the hair oils are really really good.

I’ve purchased L’oreal Elvive’s Bond Repair kit countless times over the months. This set is really great for repairing damaged hair, leaving my hair super healthy and soft. My fellow beauty blogging friend Beautylymin raved about certain haircare products a while back, which made me purchase some L’oreal products including the bond repair collection.
Redken is a luxury haircare brand that I adore. I wait to find the cheapest offers on the likes of Amazon or Sephora for these. I’ve tried the ‘extreme’ set and the ‘acidic bonding concentrate’, both excellent and I love how my hair feels when I’ve washed it.

And, lastly a shout out to Vegamour, these were kindly gifted to me. The HYDR-8 collection is incredible! The range smells absolutely amazing and honestly my hair was in amazing condition when I used these religiously for weeks. You can read more about my review of the collection here.

Others worth shouting about…
Olaplex is also one of my favourite brands that I needed to mention somewhere on this blog post. I haven’t used their products in a little while though. However, No.3 is an incredible treatment. I wrote something on Olaplex back in 2020, it’s here if you want to read it.
WOW haircare is really good as well, I’ve only tried ‘dream coat for curly hair’, but wow, it makes such a difference to the condition of my curls.
Living Proof is another goodie, their dry shampoo is wonderful.
L’oreal wonder waters, the de-tangler’s and hair masks are high street faves of mine. Forever re-purchasing these.
Other than the brands mentioned above, I don’t tend to use much else on my hair. I keep it quite simple these days.
I’m all for deep conditioning hair treatments… in fact when I next wash my hair, I’m going to treat myself to a Olaplex No.3 treatment as I have a bottle un-opened upstairs somewhere…
Have you tried any of these brands? Any favourites you would recommend for me to try?
I love Redken. Thank you for sharing. Adding some more to my list.

You’ve listed a few of my favourite brands! I really want to try that bond repair range from L’Oréal! And I have the Charlotte mensah oil from the liberty beauty box too but mine is in a drawer! Need to dig it out!

Those are both really really great, I think you would like them too. I have so many beauty products to use up still… esp from the Liberty beauty drop boxes! I do also need to buy some shampoo/conditioner, so will be ordering maybe the Bonding stuff again today if I get a mo. xx
You have a lovely hair and recommending this is great.
