The Ultimate Watch List

The countdown to Christmas is on! I do usually love the festivities – mulled wine, mince pies, decorating the tree and watching Christmas films.

But these past few weeks or so, I’ve felt a bit down in the dumps.

I’m trying to be positive and just get on with things, but life keeps throwing me curve balls. Quite frankly, it’s a really challenging time, not just for me, but for a lot of people this time of year.

I think for a lot of people who struggle with infertility, and maybe, some of you can relate, but December is not a good month when you have been trying to have a little family for years. Also, those who struggle with excessive weight gain too – the last thing you want to do, is be seen out and about, so you become a bit of a hermit.

And then, of course there is the cost of living crisis. So many people struggling at the moment and its truly heart breaking. I really do feel for those that are losing their homes, losing their jobs and can’t afford food or have the heating on.

I have also avoided looking at my phone for the past few weeks – you may have noticed. In some ways it’s been good for me, in other ways it’s been bad. I feel disconnected. But I’m enjoying focusing on the World Cup, tv series such as The Crown and The Kardashians, work-loads, birthdays and events, instead of being glued to my phone.

ANYWAY, don’t mind me, having a little heart to heart… I have put together The Ultimate Watch List. I’ve split these up into sections, let me know if you spot any of your faves!

Christmas is a tough time of year for those who don’t have kids, but want them, because all ads on tv are about happy families, and everywhere you go, you see families, which you obviously don’t begrudge because that’s what you want yourself, however it’s tough, so I hear you on that front.

Have you watched Home For Christmas? It’s a Scandi series on Netflix – I think maybe 6 episodes in each series, but it’s good – fun, but also shows the reality of a single Christmas when everyone thinks you should have a plus one, but it’s also fun to see different traditions in Norway (I think it is from memory), as it’s much less commercial than Christmas is here.

Schitt’s Creek is my comfort show – I just adore it!

I hope you manage to have a lovely festive season. Just imagine the difference that a year can make and how it might be this time next year! x

Yeah, it’s just an ‘awkward’ time of year to be honest. I think as the years go by, it just gets harder and harder.

Ooo no I haven’t, I just searched for it on Netflix and added to my list. Needing something new to watch! Thanks lovely.

Yeah, just have to wait and see what happens. Need to remain hopeful. xx
