Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation & Wedding Belles Lippy First Impressions

Can you believe it – I’ve never tried a Charlotte Tilbury foundation until now?! Madness. Considering I’m a BIG fan of her products, especially her lipsticks.

This is a first impressions post, so even though I’ll test the products out all month long, I thought I would share my honest thoughts already.

Firstly, the packaging, as always is super beautiful and well-made. Charlotte has a way of making her packaging very art deco with a modern girly twist.

Secondly, I bought these off ASOS when they did 20% off, normally the beautiful skin foundation retails at £34 and the lipstick’s are priced at £28.

Now, let’s get into the review… Will it beat my love for Estee Lauder’s double wear and become my holy grail, possibly not, however, I do like it, I just don’t love it on my first impressions, and, I really do want to love it. Here’s why…

It blends into the skin beautifully and gives you that amazing ‘glowy/dewy look’, however, I did notice some dry patches on my cheeks. So maybe this foundation isn’t great for super dry skin? I need to try it again tomorrow and this time I’ll slather a serum, moisturiser and SPF on and will report back.

The first time I tried it I only used a moisturiser and SPF, so maybe adding the extra moisture from a serum will help? That, or I get a primer for dry skin and then apply this.

Other than the dry patches, it does give you a beautiful finish. I picked up the shade 2N and it’s just right for my porcelain complexion, although it could be a tad pinkier for my skin tone, but I know they can’t cater to ALLL skin tones.

Like I said above, I’ll wear it all month long so I can really form an opinion but these are just my first impressions.

Just a little bit disappointed as I adore Charlotte Tilbury’s make-up. And well, if you’ve been a long time reader of mine, you’ll know that her lipsticks have a special place in my heart.

So, moving on to the lippy. Wedding Belles! Look at that pretty heart embossed on the lipstick – honestly, I think that’s one of the only things I like about it, that and the stunning packaging!

This lippy comes out darker on the lips to what I was expecting, almost has a brown hue to it. It’s matte and the formula isn’t drying what-so-ever. It lasts a really long time too!

I can’t quite make up my mind if it suits me or not, but I’ll wear it through-out Feb to see if it grows on me.

I still love Charlotte’s brand and the majority of her products and like I say, I’ll keep giving these a go and who knows, maybe they’ll end up in my favourites at the end of the month.

Have you tried either of these? What are your thoughts? Is it a love-hate?

It’s stunning – the little details. I wore both again today and I actually quite liked them! No dry patches today but I used my Estée Lauder serum underneath. Xx

Such a shame these two didn’t live up to your expectations! I guess no brand can make an all-around perfect range of products. The foundation seems alright enough though 🙂

I love the foundation, but that shade of lipstick wouldn’t be for me, despite the gorgeous packaging! x
