UK Staycations Travel Bucket List For 2022

While I don’t intend to go abroad for a wee while, I would like to go on some lovely little staycations around the UK in 2022.

I’m always on the look-out for dog friendly hotels, so if you know of any, do let me know in the comments below.

Joe and I travelled to Oxfordshire last year for a staycation on our eleven year anniversary with Archie. I can’t believe we only did one break away, however, we were rather occupied with decorating our beautiful ‘forever’ home.

Any who, without further a do… Here’s my small but mighty travel bucket list:

Cotswolds

We travelled to the Cotswolds a few years back and I’d love to return this year. Maybe in Spring?

Oxford

We’re planning to go to Oxford! As I mentioned above, we went to Oxford last year but it’ll be lovely to return and see the city as we didn’t get to as we had Archie with us. So, this will be a lovely little get-a-way.

New Forest

We went to the New Forest for a wedding a few years ago but we would love to visit it properly. Maybe in the Summer?

Cornwall

We travelled to Falmouth (the snap above) in 2020 and I’d love to see more of Cornwall as it’s so serene.

Liverpool

We’re planning to go to Liverpool near the end of the year and I’m really excited – the hotel looks amazing! I’ve always wanted to go to Liverpool and later on in the year, I’ll tick it off my bucket list.

What locations are on your travel bucket list?

Although I’m not an English/UK resident, basically the entirety of the UK has been on my travel bucket list for ages and ages! At this point, I’ve just curated a list of locations in England & the rest of the UK that just gets longer and longer :’) Every one of these spots is on my list with the exception of New Forest, def need to add it now! x

Ah lovely! I could name so many beautiful locations worth seeing in the UK – maybe I’ll do a blog post on it in the future, I may have already done one thinking about it now. New Forest is lovely. We’ve just booked a break away in Cornwall in February. Can’t wait! xx

The Cotswolds is my favourite place in the world, definitely want to explore more this year. Id love to visit Edinburgh and maybe Cornwall too, I haven’t been to Cornwall sine I was a child but its just so far from Yorkshire!

Dying to go back there – hopefully soon! Loved Edinburgh, we went a few years ago. Ah yeah, it’s quite the drive – 5 hours for us! xx

It’s beaut isn’t it?! We’re actually travelling to Cornwall in Feb for a wintery beach break.
I’ve never been to Liverpool, but I’m looking forward to visiting the beautiful city later on in the year! xx

I don’t have plans to travel internationally any time soon, either, though it makes me a bit sad to say! It looks like you’ve got some great plans for slightly more local travel, though! That’s great! I have a goal to explore two new places this year. I want to keep the goal modest (to avoid too much disappointment!) but I don’t quite know where I want to visit. But there are tons of interesting spots around me, so I’ll be researching in the winter and hopefully doing once the snow clears 🙂

Ah lovely! Always good to travel locally. Also lucky that you get snow – it rarely snows in the UK! xx

We’re debating our holidays this year – the temptation to go abroad VS my health & if there are more variants. If we stay in Ireland, it’s hard to beat Kerry, but we both want to see The Giant’s Causeway too! x

Yeah that’s what I was one of my worries too – the variants. I’d love to go to Ireland, one day! xx
