Things That Have Brought Me Joy In April

Pizza parties, fresh flowers, Easter treats, warm days and chocolate-y hot cross buns. A few of my favourite things this April.

As lockdown restrictions ease and as of April 12th, businesses are starting to re-open which means pub gardens are allowed, hurrah (although this gives me anxiety)! As well as beauty salons and retail shops. Things are finally getting back to normal here in England.

I’ve been fortunate to have my vaccination back in March, I’m now waiting for my second one, so I can feel fully protected.

Some good and bad news to share this month, I’ll start with the good. We celebrated my grandad’s 86th birthday in April. And my nan is sadly back in hospital again and has been in there for around two weeks. I’ve written her a card which I’d like to give to her but you’re not allowed any visitors in hospitals, so I’ll have to wait until she’s home.

Any who, sorry for the ramble, it was much needed to have a little chat about the ups and downs.

Anyway, let’s talk about my April Joys…

Pizza Parties – we’ve had friends and family round in our garden for pizza and drinks, which has been lovely!

Rainbow Lucy & Yak dungarees – I’ve been loving my rainbow dungarees this month!

Easter treat box from Flourish Bakery – Joe treated me to a massive box of cakes and biscuits from my fave local bakery. Everything was so incredibly delicious.

Easter brownies from Savvy Baker – I treated Joe and I to a box of Easter brownies, the same week as Flourish treat box arrived – such chubs.

Sunny days – I’m LOVING the warmer weather. Perfect for sitting out in the garden.

Baking a GBBO Signature chocolate cake – I made a rather tasty chocolate and raspberry cake, shared with family of course.

Chocolatey hot cross buns from M&S – Mhmmm, enough said.

My job – I’ve been really enjoying my job, I got to film a ‘day in my life’ last week which was fun.

My tatty devine buys – Bagged myself a new necklace and some ear-rings from tatty, what a treat.

Wraps – LOVING home-made wraps with hummus, cheese or avocado with all the veg. SOO good!

Kate Somerville goat milk cleanser – This cleanser is a delight!

Beyond Burgers – OH MY… drools… They are hands down the best alternative to meat burgers around.

Fresh flowers – fresh flowers around the house make me happy, it’s the little things.

Cinnamon Buns from my local – Archie enjoyed a bit of these, as did I!

Still on the orange chocolate bandwagon – the dark chocolate orange bar from the co-op is the one!

What’s bought you joy this April?

So much yummy food! Chocolate and raspberry is such a great combination! In Ireland, our restrictions are still at level 5 but they’ve extended the limit from 5kn to 20 km from our house, so we’ve been to the beach and it was so lovely! x

Looks like you had a memorable month! I’m excited for you to get your second vaccine shot! I know it was such a big relief when I finished mine. Also – Beyond Burgers are the best meatless burgers seems like fighting words, haha. For some reason, I prefer the Impossible burgers!

Me too, although not looking forward to the side effects again. Did you have any side effects? Haha! I’ve tried impossible burgers but prefer Beyond. x
