I haven’t done one of these in quite some time. I’ve been reading, watching and listening to some great stuff that I’ve been dying to share with you all.
From Netflix recommendations to Youtube channels I’ve been admiring. There’s a bunch of tv shows that may peak your interest.
Without further a do, let’s begin shall we.
TV Shows / Films / Youtube
Normal People – I read the book at the start of September on Holiday which I will discuss more a bit later. I really really enjoyed the TV series! It’s on BBC iPlayer if you’re interested. It’s a love story – Connell and Marrianne find themselves coming back to each other time and time again. And Marrianne and Connell go through some twists and turns. Really interesting! Binge watched it in two days.
Selling Sunset – I also binge watched season 3 in two days! I just love the drama in this programme. It’s about real estate agents that live the high life in L.A, selling dreamy homes to clients. It’s really great if you’re in to that catty drama and seeing amazing homes in L.A.
The Umbrella Academy 2 – Wow what a series! I think I enjoyed this one even better than the first series. The family time travel back to the 60’s and find themselves finding one another once again.
The Kissing Booth 1 & 2. Ok ok, this is super teenage like and not usually my cup of tea, however I really enjoyed these girly chick flicks. I even think 2 was better than 1. Tempted to watch them again as I watched them early August.
Keeping up with the Kardashians – They’ve just released season four on Netflix and I am hooked! I can’t believe they planned a wedding in nine days! I thought planning mine in a year was seriously stressful, let alone nine frickin’ days.
End of the f***ing world 2 – I’ve just started watching end of the f***ing world series two. It’s been really good! If you like that dry humour and a bit of drama in your lives, this is one to go for!
The Social Dilemma – a documentary on social media and the impact it has on our lives. A really eye-opening watch, it’s scary how we are monetised every second of every day! Join the social dilemma and make the world a better place! I’m going to have digital detoxes once a week from now on and try not to let ‘ads’ get to me.
In the Youtube world, I really enjoyed Helen Anderson’s Scottish road trip and Anna’s week in my life video. I’ve also discovered Hannah’s channel who discusses what she eats with her stoma bag and can she have kids with a stoma bag? I’ve also been enjoying Casey Neistat’s videos. Really interesting vlogs!
Normal People – As I mentioned earlier, I just finished reading Normal People. What a book! 9/10. It only loses a point as I didn’t think the ending was fulfilling enough. However, I really enjoyed reading it! It’s about Marianne and Connell who can’t stay apart from one another, it’s very sexual, a bit like fifty shades but not as much sex.
Women don’t owe you pretty – This book has been somewhat empowering. Florence Given (the author) has made some feminist ideas digestible. Florence has taken it upon herself to be the voice of many and speak up on issues such as disability, fatphobia and so on. A great read.
Emma-Louise’s post on falling out with Social Media was refreshing to read.
Podcasts / Music
I don’t usually listen to that many podcasts these days, however, At home with Lily and Anna has been great! ‘Making money as a content creator’ was a fab topic to discuss.
LIGHTS – I’ve also been loving LIGHTS. ‘Same Sea‘ is one of my all time favourite songs!
The 1975 – I’ve been seriously addicted to ‘Somebody Else‘, it’s just such a catchy tune.
What have you been loving recently? From tv shows, music to books/blogs you’ve read. Let me know!
