9 Of The Prettiest And Best Places To Visit In Europe

Travelling is one of my favourite things to do and I’ve been so fortunate to explore some beautiful places around the world. Especially around Europe.

Europe has some stunning cities, from the likes of Santorini, Budapest and Venice to name a few.

Depending whether you’re looking for a bit of inspo to travel around Europe or just fancied a read, this post has the 8 of the prettiest and best places to travel around Europe. So, without further a do… let’s chat about my top 8.

1. Venice

Venice HAS to be one of the most beautiful and romantic locations in Europe. A city away from the hustle and bustle of cars and trains. The city that gets by, by travelling by foot or by boat. A unique city to say the least.

If you get the chance to go you HAVE to visit Burano, a little town full of colourful houses, cute restaurants and boats. It’s only a short boat ride away from Venice!

The food and coffee in Venice is also incredible!

Check out my Venice Bucket list here.

2. Budapest

Budapest, what a beautiful city! Even if it did snow when we went and was -6, brrrr. Any who, it was a magical experience seeing a castle that resembled Hogwarts!

Where to go for coffee: We found two cool coffee shops. One being 9bar the other vinyl and wood. Coffee was top notch!

Where to go for sweet treats: If you have a sweet tooth like I do then you must check out deszert.neked, the cakes were incredible.

Another sweet hot spot was Chez dodo artisan macaroons, I had a gin macaroon and my husband had the chilli chocolate and they both were delightful.

Where to go for brunch: Cirkusz is a cute little stop for French toast. As well as Szimply for some incredible avocado on toast. And lastly if you’re in the fisherman’s bastion area, you have to check out Ramazuri Bistronomy.

Check out my Budapest guide here.

3. Santorini

Santorini HAS to be one of the prettiest towns in Greece, from the cobbled streets to the beautiful blue dommed churches. Stunning, just simply stunning!

Where to eat: Pyrgos is a fantastic location for places to eat. You have to check out Kantouni and try the grilled meats platter, you also get free pannacotta to finish off your meal nicely, Brusco next door is great for drinks, Cava Alta is amazing for seafood, Metaxy Mas Tavern a great spot for lunch (and free cheesecake) and the Pyrgos Restaurant had the most incredible lamb dishes.

One of my favourite meals of the trip was a salmon pesto pasta dish I had at Rastoni in the capitol Fira.

And last but by no means least, you have to grab a bite to eat in Oia. I highly recommend King Neptune, Joe and I both had salads and loved them. For dessert do try Lolita’s Gelato, the ice-cream is so creamy and delicious! Try the lemon sorbet, pistachio and caramel flavours, so good!

4. Copenhagen

Copenhagen – the capital of Denmark HAS to be one of the BEST locations in Europe! Its Hygge lifestyle is most attractive, I love how the Danes live. Also, it has some of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been too.

Coffee ShopsDemocratic Coffee Bar – This place has a really cool vibe and is where a lot of students hang out. They sell the most delicious and wonderful almond croissants with almond butter inside. Seriously seriously amazing… I’m still dreaming of that wonderful croissant. The coffees are great too, we had two lattes and they were lovely and creamy.

The Collective CoffeeA trendy little coffee corner that caught my eye. I wanted my cappuccino in one of those cool geometric plastic cups, saddo I know. But honestly, this was one of the best cappuccino’s I’ve ever had and it’s a great spot for people watching!

Original Coffee is a little out the way, but if you’re visiting Olufsvej to see the beautiful colourful houses then I recommend stopping by here.
It’s a really cool modern coffee shop with all décor black and white. It’s fairly small inside, but it’s a great spot to charge your phone or do a bit of work whist you enjoy sipping one of their amazing coffees!

5. Amsterdam

Amsterdam is absolutely breathtaking during the day and at night. Cycling around the city is a MUST! Almost everyone cycles in Amsterdam – no wonder the Danes are so slim and healthy! Hire a bicycle for a few days, it’s the most convenient way of traveling around and experiencing Amsterdam as a local.

Also explore the museums – the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House are great.
There are also so many quirky ones, such as The Sex Museum, The Cow Museum and The Tulip Museum.

Also, did you know Amsterdam is home to 75 museums! Fun fact there for ya!

AND, The Heineken experience was really good and I would highly recommend it. I’m not usually a fan of beer (I’m more of a G&T kind of girl), but my husband wanted to go and we really enjoyed it. You learnt the history behind the company, how beer is made, had a little bit of beer tasting, played lots of interactive games and got to enjoy two beers at the end of the experience.

6. Berlin

I visited the gorgeous city Mitte in Berlin where I indulged in heavenly foods, stayed in chic apartments and wandered around the pleasant streets of Berlin. I didn’t get to explore as much of Berlin as I would have liked as I was there on my best friend’s hen do. So, I do plan on returning some day.

7. Paris

Paris HAS to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world! It’s so gorgeous at night time with the Eiffel Tower lit up. And, home to Disneyland – YAY, such a big kid I know!

Paris will always be a special location in my heart because it was mine and my husbands first holiday together! Look how young I look in the photo below, I even had a blonde streak my hair, so emo lol. Anyway, I’m dying to go back and see the beautiful city of lights – it’s been 9 years since we last went!

8. Nuremberg

Nuremberg in Germany is gorgeous at Christmas time! If you’re looking for the perfect winter break I highly recommend visiting here for a few days.

My best friend lives in Nuremberg and I’m always a little jelly! Another fun fact there for ya!

9. Madrid

Madrid is such a gorgeous city to visit! It’s the capital and most populous city of Spain. My husband and I visited way back in 2013 and loved every second.

The parks are breathtaking – you MUST wander around them, as well as this the food is incredible. We ate our hearts out!

If you get the chance to go you HAVE to visit the royal palace of Madrid, El Retiro Park and Museo Nacional del Prado!
