It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Gingerbread lattes, cosy nights in and mulled wine. Yes please!
Today I thought I would share a list of festive films – the classics. The films that you’ve most likely seen, but worth giving them another watch this Christmas.
Elf
What a brilliant Christmas film! SANTAAAA!!! I KNOW HIM!!
Starring Will Farrell and Zooey Deschanel.
If you haven’t seen it, the film focuses on ‘Buddy’, a human who was adopted and raised by Santa’s elves. He learns about this and heads to NYC to meet his father, while also spreading Christmas cheer in a world of cynics in the process.
Love Actually
If you’re in the mood for a rom-com, Love Actually is your film to go for.

Miracle on 34th Street
Ahh I love Miracle on 34th Street, such a classic! I used to watch it all the time when I was growing up.

Home Alone
Home Alone has to be my ultimate favourite Christmas film – Merry Christmas you filthy animal!! I watch it every year without fail.
If you haven’t seen Home Alone, the film stars Macaulay Culkin and is about a kid that get’s left behind at home while his family are going on holiday. Two robbers try multiple attempts to break into the house but the child sets up traps and all sorts to stop the robbers from getting in. A great watch!

Another rom-com that you’ll love is ‘The Holiday’, starring Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Jack Black.
It’s about two women troubled with guy-problems who swap homes in each other’s countries. They each meet a local guy and fall in love.
Die Hard
Is Die Hard a Christmas film? Well, yes and no! But either way I enjoy watching it at Christmas every year.
If you’re in the mood for action, Die Hard is your film. Starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman.
The film follows off-duty NYC Police Department officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) who is caught in a Los Angeles skyscraper during a heist led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman). A great watch!
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Another classic Christmas film is Bridget Jone’s Diary.

Written in the form of a personal diary, the novel chronicles a year in the life of Bridget Jones, a thirty-something single working woman living in London.
