Where To Eat In London: Pret A Portea Afternoon Tea At The Berkeley

Last weekend Joe and I celebrated nine years of being ‘official’. And well, any excuse to celebrate… off we popped into L-town and went for afternoon tea at Pret A Portea at The Berkeley. A gorgeous hotel located in Knightsbridge.

I have eyed up the Dior inspired afternoon tea for bloody yonks and I’m so HAPPY that I experienced it. This has to be my favourite afternoon tea I’ve had this year.

Sadly its no longer available, however, they have another fashion inspired afternoon tea. Named the Couture Catwalk. For more information click here.

To start, we had an array of sandwiches and savouries. From the likes of egg cress (my fave of the bunch), cucumber and cream cheese, salmon, ham and chicken. They do offer vegetarian options too!

As well as pots of tea, I went for the peppermint leaf and Joe had dragonwell green tea (which was a £2 supplement). We also had two cappuccinos with ‘Dior’ printed on the foamy drink – very classy.

Then out came the beautiful cakes and biscuits. A collection of cakes inspired by Dior’s timeless and iconic designs.

A rose pink Miss Dior eau de Parfum lychee and raspberry cake topped with lychee pate de fruit and a chic oversized silver bow.

The Muguet pavlova and raspberry jam cake dress with madagascar vanilla chantilly coconut marshmellow and elegant white sugar bow. (My favourite)!

Miss Dior floral dulcey mousse dress with Berriolette centre set on sable Breton crowned with violet edible flower.

Evening Junon gown fromage blanc and cassis jelly encased with scallops of white chocolate sprinkled with edible glitter.

The Iconic Bar jacket chocolate biscuit iced with light cream royal icing.

This seasons must have J’adior slingback pump vanilla biscuit with royal icing finished with edible sugar ribbon.

Lady Dior Handbag gifted to Princess Diana by France’s first lady, Bernadette Chirac. Red velvet cake glazed with red-chocolate miroir.

As well as the above, a plate with a cute message came out. ‘Happy 9th Anniversary’ with some fruit and chocolates – which was really lovely of them.

Overall, it was a lovely afternoon tea, a fashionably fabulous afternoon tea.

It’s become a tradition every year, we’ve tried so many great afternoon teas! But, this has to be up there amongst my favourites I’ve tried so far.
