I’m most happiest when eating afternoon tea! I wish I could eat an endless amount of little cakes every day – without getting fat of course!
For Christmas, I bought Joe and I afternoon tea via buyagift, I saw that the Hilton hotel on Park Lane were doing a deal – more on that here.
What I found really cool was this particular afternoon tea menu was crafted by pastry chefs Emmanuel and Sam, crowned the winners of Bake Off: The Professionals 2018. Oooh la la.
Any who, out came an array of open sandwiches: smoked salmon and horseradish cream, cucumber, chive, cream cheese, prawn cocktail with lettuce, coronation chicken, curry and pineapple and last but by no means least ham, tomato chutney, mustard and cress!
My favourite was the coronation chicken, Joe’s was the smoked salmon and horseradish.

If you’re a regular follower, you may know that I’m currently on a veggie diet, however I will eat meat occasionally. Think of me as a flexible vegetarian. Not that you care about my eating habits, but there you go!
Any who, soz, I was waffling about my diet, back to afternoon tea!
After scoffing our faces with delicious open sandwiches, out came the sweet treats! We had two scones each, one was chocolate chip, the other was plain, which came with salted caramel sauce, clotted cream and strawberry jam. I’m a big fan of scones and these really hit the spot! Divine!
Then on to the sweet treats!

On top were the pastries: deconstructed black forest gateaux and passionfruit, strawberry jelly tartlet. Alongside miniature fancies: pina colada cheesecake, caramelised banana, milk chocolate macaroons, coconut sphere with Brazilian chocolate and a slab of dark chocolate.
My faves were the passionfruit, strawberry jelly tartlet and the pina colada cheesecake. Joe’s fave was the deconstructed black forest gateux!
I’d rate this afternoon tea a 7/10, it was delicious, however not my fave. My love for Rosewood’s Art Afternoon Tea and Sketch are still firm favourites and the best afternoon tea’s in London.
However, I would still recommend checking out the Hilton’s afternoon tea. Do buy from buyagift and sign up to receive emails as they also email discount codes which you can use on top of it already being discounted. Works out a lot cheaper, rather than booking directly from the hotel!
What are your favourite afternoon tea’s in London? Let me know as I’d love to check them out!
