Time for a reflection blog post – it’s becoming quite a tradition that I do one of these every year!
I’m going to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. SO many happy memories from 2018 that outweigh the bad times.
I’m looking forward to what 2019 may bring – let’s hope it’s a great one *fingers and toes crossed*!
January. Let’s roll back to January… Joe and I didn’t do as much as we’d like to – I think we were most likely suffering with the ‘January Blues’. However having said that, I wrote a few blog posts, one on karma, The Bali Honeymoon Guide, 30 before I’m 30, Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen, Coffee Break at Flat White and 25 Things To Do To Brighten Your Mood.
February. A few days stood out to me in February – Joe and I wandered around Shoreditch and ate doughnuts at Doughnut Time – I had a kinder surprise egg and Joe had the rolo one. I remember they had vegan doughnuts too, such a cool place!
We also had pizza at Pizza East – delicious! And, we went to Night Jar for some amazing cocktails!
Joe and I travelled to Budapest late February for Joe’s birthday celebrations – we ate lots of delicious foods at the likes of The Donut Library, Desszert.Neked, Szimply and many more yummy places!
March. If I’m being honest I don’t remember much of March, however, I wrote a few things on 25 Things To Do On A Rainy Day, The MAC Lipstick I’ll Always Repurchase and The Budapest Travel Guide.
April. Another month that I can’t remember much of, however, more delicious foods of course! We had a Sunday roast at the Cart & Horses which was lovely.
I wrote a few blog posts in April too: My Most Worn Lipsticks,The Best Burger Joints in London, Let’s Talk Bridal Shoes and Lush Don’t Look At Me Face Mask Review.
May. Joe and I travelled to Santorini in May – the weather was beautiful, the sunsets were gorgeous and we wandered around and ate lots of delicious foods.
One night in particular that stood out to me and Joe was when we went to Santo Wines Winery where we indulged on cheeses and a variety of wines. The sunset was beautiful too!
We also went to a music festival called SlamDunk (Pop Punk/Rock music festival) where we listened to some cool bands – a favourite of mine was Jimmy Eat World!
I also wrote my Venice bucket list guide – a belated guide from when Joe and I travelled to in February/March 2016.
June. I don’t remember much of June – it was a quiet month on the blog.
July. The year of the World Cup and Wimbledon! France won the World Cup and if I remember correctly, England did really well and got through to the semi finals. Also, Novak Djokovic won Wimbledon – I remember this being a really tense match, but was supporting both players.
Early on in the month, our friends Tim and Steph got married – a beautiful ceremony and reception!
Joe and I also purchased our very first home! A cute little house in a village – it’s perfect for us for the time being, but not our forever home.
Family helped decorate the two bedrooms and we plan on decorating the bathroom, living room, hallway and kitchen sometime this year!
August. I can’t quite remember much of August, busy living life and sorting the house out. However, I remember we didn’t have internet for 3 weeks… which was blissful (still had 4G on my phone though)!
I do remember one day in particular and that was when me and Joe had a London foodie day, we ate ice-creams at Soft Serve Society, drank pretty lattes at AIDA Shoreditch, ate at The Blues Kitchen and drank hot chocolates at Dark Sugars! I wrote a blog post on that day here: ‘Most Instagrammable places in Shoreditch’.
September. I celebrated my blog’s forth birthday, hooray!
It was also mine and Joe’s eight year anniversary where we celebrated at home with a Nando’s take away and Joe bought me the most gorgeous flowers!
We also explored Tring – wandered around the town and stopped by The Espresso Lounge for cakes and coffee’s. We also went to The Bricklayer’s Arms for a traditional Sunday roast! Located in Flaunden, Hemel Hempstead.
October. My birthday month – Scorpio season!
Joe and I went to Bath on the weekend leading up to my birthday and stayed at the most stunning hotel – The Gainsborough Hotel.
The hotel had the most gorgeous roman bath spa!
What I found was really cool was that it had an infa-red sauna (never been in one of these before), steam room and I had a lovely body massage as part of our package – what a treat! It was the most perfect and best weekend – a massive thank you to Joe for spoiling me!
Joe also spoilt me rotten with lots of make-up, as well as my work friends treating me to a candle and other bits and pieces, and our families giving me money which was kind of them.
November. November was all about getting better – I was hospitalised again and it was a tough time, however, I’m home now and doing much better! I’m writing again which is making me super happy!
December. I had a lovely Christmas break with family in Corby and Watford.
New year’s eve was super relaxing this year. We popped by a friends flat for a little bit, but I wasn’t feeling too good, so we stayed at home, snuggled and watched TV.
So, that summarises each month of 2018 – what a year… health, happiness and love are the key!
Also, I treated myself to a ‘365’ happiness diary (from John Lewis) in late December so I can keep track of every day! Hope everyone had a great year and looking forward to what 2019 will bring!
Let’s get social. Follow me on Instagram or Twitter. I’m also on Bloglovin, Pinterest and Youtube.
