The Budapest Travel Guide

Budapest, what a beautiful city! Even if it did snow and was -6, brrrr. it was a magical experience seeing a castle that resembled Hogwarts and eating my body weight in desserts.

I’d love to go back and experience what it’s like in the Summer when the weather is a bit warmer.

So, let’s get into the guide shall we.

Where to stay: we stayed at one of the icon collection apartments. A beautiful  apartment that was definitely all of the room goals. I loved the elegant touches of marble tables and the blue suede sofa.

It’s also right in city centre so it’s perfect walking distance to all the hip restaurants and attractions.

Where to go for coffee: We found two cool coffee shops. One being 9bar the other vinyl and wood. Coffee was top notch as well as this, we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere in both.

Where to go for sweet treats: If you have a sweet tooth like I do then you must check out deszert.neked, the cakes were incredible. I highly recommend the caramel one and the dark chocolate orange with thyme. Heavenly.

Another sweet hot spot was Chez dodo artisan macaroons, I had a gin macaroon and joe had the chilli chocolate and they both were delightful.

If you’re in a doughnut mood, you have to check out donut library, they had an array of interesting doughnuts to choose from. I went for the ‘nutty’ one which was delicious!

And last but by no means least, you have to check out the famous New York cafe for amazing hot chocolates. The cream on top is sooo good!

Where to go for brunch: Cirkusz is a cute little stop for French toast. As well as Szimply for some incredible avocado on toast. And lastly if you’re in the fisherman’s bastion area, you have to check out Ramazuri Bistronomy. I had the lamb with pumpkin purée and it was delicious. Joe had the duck leg which was equally as scrummy.

Where to go for dinner: If you’re in a meaty mood, try Goodbar Goodburger for some incredibly tasty burgers. Or if you’re in an Italian mood, check out Comme Chez Soi. I cannot rate Comme Chez Soi enough, the service and food was first class. The waiters treated us to additional treats free of charge which made the experience very special.

Things to do? Check out fisherman’s bastion, a beautiful castle which is remenesient to Hogwarts from Harry Potter.

Another must see is to check out one of the thermal baths, we went to Gellert Baths and very much enjoyed our stay there. Honestly so beautiful inside.

So there we have it! Let me know if you’re planning on going to Budapest or you’ve been and can recommend some places to my fellow readers.
