My Wedding Diet

To be my wedding size again, a gal can dream.

Looking back on my wedding diet, I didn’t have a strict plan until four months prior to my big day. At the time I was a healthy size 10, so I only wanted to drop down a size.
I ordered my wedding dress in a size 8 – so it was encouraging for me to loose weight.

Little disclaimer before I start. My plan worked for me – I only wanted to drop down one dress size and look ‘toned’ for my wedding and honeymoon. People vary and it depends on how much weight you’d like to loose.
I’d recommend trying Slimming World too. I went on the Slimming World diet not too long ago, lost a stone in 4 months on a really lose un-strict diet without badly any exercise… but sadly I’ve put the weight back on due to being on medication and eating badly. In the new year, I’ll get back on the weight loss train!

Anyway, without further ado, here is my plan.

Four months till the big day.
Exercise 2-3 times a week at the gym, 30 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the running machine.
Eat healthy – soup for lunch every day and oily fish two times a week with rice and grilled vegetables. Drink plenty of water and trade normal tea to green tea which will help speed up your metabolism.
Occasional take-away treat twice a month – I remember having Chinese – chow mein and duck pancakes.

1 month till the big day
Exercise 4 times a week at the gym, 30 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the running machine – taking it up a notch by doing one extra day, but still 50 minutes each time.
Take-away treat cuts down to only once a month. Still eat and drink healthy too.

2 weeks till the big day
Continue to exercise 4 times a week – the usual 30 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the running machine. Diet is super strict now – soup/juice for lunch, grilled oily fish (salmon) twice/three times a week. Drink lots of coconut water too (to give your skin that glow).

1 week till the big day
Gym every day, 30 minutes on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the running machine. Soup/juice (juice pre-made ones from Asda – ones like beetroot and orange, sounds gross but was surprisingly a-ok) for lunch and a healthy vegetable heavy meal in the evening. You can still eat oily fish twice/three times a week. Drink lots of water and green tea too.

So that was my diet. It mainly consisted of eating lots of oily fish (salmon) and soups (for lunch and some times in the evenings) – I would buy those ready made ones – ‘New Covent Garden Soup Co’. And, drink plenty of water and coconut water (two weeks prior). To also mix things up a bit, I used to put lemon or strawberries in my water just for a bit of flavour. And do try different flavoured green tea, there’s gingerbread green tea, peach blossom, ginger, all different types out there!

I hope this was helpful to at least one person. If you’ve got any diet tips please leave them in the comments below to help my fellow readers out.
