For my best friend’s (Nicol) birthday, I treated her to science afternoon tea at the stunning Ampersand Hotel located in South Kensington.
Inspired by the hotel’s neighbour, The Science Museum. The afternoon tea boasts a star menu where you can explore a delicious selection of themed treats including a cream cheese planet mousse with spaceman. You can also dust for a collection of short bread dinosaurs and use test tubes to sprinkle toppings on the homemade plain and white chocolate scones.
It was a really cool experience. And, everything tasted aaaamazing! The scones were my favourite as well as the seasonal quiche, and the brioche bun with roast beef, horseradish, water cress and cornichons.
The pastries were rather interesting too, there was a prosecco mint jelly, kiwi, lime and pineapple jam petri dish, cream cheese planet mousse, and a mango & passion fruit macaroon.
Overall, I was super impressed with the service and the whole package. It was fun, quirky and delicious.
It was the perfect treat for my best friend, who completely deserves it, as she’s been so busy with her little one and rarely makes time for some much needed girly time. We both throughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to come again.
Highly recommend the Science Afternoon Tea to all afternoon tea lovers out there!
