My Thoughts On K Beauty: The Brands I’ve Tried & Love

Korean Beauty has been talked about with extremely high praises all over the internet for a little while. I’ve tried a few brands, the likes of Then I Met You, Soko Glam, LANEIGE and Erborian. And, I’m keen to try more!

I thought I would have a little natter this morning as I’m trying some new products out post-partum and daddy is on shift, so I have a spare and rare moment to type up some thoughts.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I’m a huge skin-care junkie and I’m really big on Vitamin C products. I used to work for an anti-aging company a fair few years ago, so I learnt a lot while working there as a Designer.
That brand was big on Vitamin A and focused solely on Environ, which I used to use. At times I do miss those weird and wonderful facials that made you look like Mrs Doubtfire, but, your skin felt incredible afterwards!

Anyway, I digress…

I now swear by Sunday Riley’s stuff and have used it for years and years. Also, I don’t tend to switch up my skin-care these days, but sometimes I do get the urge to try something new and now that I’m no longer pregnant and not currently breastfeeding, I can enjoy more skin-care and make-up again, without being so limited with what I can and can’t use.

I’m on a new path with K Beauty and I’m excited! Is it as good as my Sunday Riley faves? Time will tell. However, I am really enjoying the majority of products I’ve purchased.

Let’s start with Then I Met You.

So, I did a big old splurge on Space NK. I purchased the cleansing balm, toner and two moisturisers.

The brand is founded by Charlotte Cho, a Korean innovation. Her products embrace contemporary Korean sensibility and the formulations celebrate heritage ingredients like persimmon, ginseng, and fermented rice that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Then I Met You really stood out to me when I was browsing SPACE NK for K Beauty products.

The packaging drew me in! I used to be a Designer (kinda still am). I loved the balance of blue and orange-y yellow tones on the packaging. I adored the fonts they used and the reviews seemed pretty decent.

It’s been a month or so since I’ve been using these but I am impressed. I adore the cleansing balm, it’s so soft and lovely to use to remove make-up. The product itself is an orange-y yellow colour and it smells divine.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t actually purchased a toner in about maybe seven or eight years as I really wanted to strip back my skincare and only use a cleanser, moisturiser and serum. Though saying that, I LOVE THIS TONER! The Birch Milk Refining Toner of dreams! It doesn’t dry out my dry to combination skin at all! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

The moisturisers have been fabulous too! I tend to reach for the Renewing Rich Beauty Cream a tad more. I find it more hydrating for my dry skin. Although I do enjoy the Bong Bounce Cream as well!

I’m super keen to try more from this brand as the products have been brilliant. No complaints at all.

Possibly the BEST K Beauty skin-care brand I’ve tried so far.

Next up, we have Soko Glam, Lagom, a brand I had heard nothing about! But as I was on a splurge on SPACE NK, it intrigued me.

I purchased the Cell Up Gel to Water Cleanser. I liked the simplicity of the packaging.

The cleanser is designed to loosen buildup on the skin’s surface that helps remove grime, debris and excess sebum. Working to enhance the skin’s ability to retain moisture. With a low-pH, gel to water formula, Soko Glam Lagom Cellus Gel to Water Cleanser combines the benefits of both micellar water and a cleansing oil.

This cleanser doesn’t dry out my skin either, it’s rather nice and doesn’t have a fragrance. I do quite enjoy the texture of the product.

Also, I know you’re not supposed to get it in your mouth, but I did and boy oh boy, it tastes rank!

I think it’s doing a decent job on my skin though. And that’s the main thing!

I’m intrigued to try more from this brand.

Moving on to Korean make-up. Well, the skin-care and make-up hybrid. The Erborian CC Creme has been rather popular on the gram. I happen to see it everywhere, so I wanted to try a few of them.

I purchased the CC Red Correct while I was preggers and chatted about it here. Pregnancy skin-care safe products and all that jazz!

Anywho, I adore this! I use it almost daily now. Even after pregnancy. It covers redness SO well. 10/10 from me.

I decided to buy the CC Creme in Clair too.

I love this for a light base paired with the CC Red Correct. Make’s me feel put together for when I’m going for that no make-up look most days.

The only thing I would like from this brand is I wish they would create more pale skinned tones as this one can be a little dark for me. I do love it though, regardless of being slightly darker.

I will say these days I tend to go bare-faced as it’s hard to feel all put together with a 3 month old baby. I do love playing around with make-up still though. So if I have some time, the CC cremes are so easy to apply, followed by a little mascara and eye-liner, sometimes a little blush and lippy and my make-up is done within 5 mins. Some days I go without lippy as my lips are naturally quite plump and pinky.

Anyway back to the brand! Erborian launched in 2007. They had a simple mission which was to create innovative and impactful products that enrich your routine, whilst simultaneously ensuring that you get the best out of your skin, all in the least amount of steps.

I feel like their mission does exactly that. The CC Cremes are amazing. They are moisturising, cover redness and give you a glow-y hydrated base. I do like to add a SPF and moisturiser beforehand, so I’m EXTRA glow-y.

Right, I think I will leave my thoughts there. I need to go on shift with my daughter, as my husband needs to work. Hope you’ve enjoyed me natter on about the K Beauty products I’ve tried, tested and loved.

I’m a big fan of this K Beauty hype and will continue to use and re-purchase these gorgeous and wonderful products that are doing my skin wonders.
