The glossy wavy locks edit – My updated hair-care routine two months postpartum.
I hadn’t treated myself to some luxurious hair-care bits in such a long time! And, I haven’t spoken about my hair-care routine in yonks – around two years ago I had a chatty post about some brands that I was loving.
So today I’m going to natter about all things hair-care.
If you’ve been a long time reader you will know I suffered from horrendous hair-loss back in 2020 after battling through a lot of major surgeries. Since then, my hair grew back wavy – like it was when I was little! I’m also really anxious about postpartum hair-loss, a few strands have fallen out in the past two months, but nothing super obvious yet.
I don’t actually do an awful lot to my hair to be quite frank, I wash my hair twice a week, sometimes once depending on its greasy state.

I am currently using Living Proof’s Restore Shampoo and Conditioner which I’m really enjoying. I’ve noticed my hair has got a lot stronger using these two.
I’ve nearly ran out, so I need to re-purchase them or maybe try something else.
I’m always up for trying new hair-care brands – I have so many brands to try on my list. One being Kerastase’s shampoo’s and conditioners as I’m a huge fan of their hair oils.

For my hair-mask, that I use weekly, I have been using gisou honey gloss ceramide therapy hair mask. This makes my hair so shiny and glossy! And I really adore the honey infused scent. LOVE!
I do always buy the Garnier Hair Food masks too as they are so affordable – they tend to be a couple of quid in the supermarkets. I’ve written about those here.
Once I’m out of the shower, I slather my hair with gisou’s honey infused hair oil and WOW Dream Coat for Curly Hair. I do sometimes alternate with ORIBE Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil too. I also put a few drops of GRO hair serum in the roots, which I was kindly gifted, but it’s honestly amazing.
Then, I blow-dry with my Dyson hair-dryer and sometimes whack out the diffuser. I also sometimes use the air-wrap but it’s very rarely these days. Only for special occasions usually.
Then for any spruce up’s during the week I tend to use JVN’s dry shampoo. I did used to use the Living Proof one – which is incredible… However, I’m trialing the JVN one at the moment as I’d heard great things. And, so far so good.
These products are currently working really nicely for me, however, I do like switching up my routine all the time, so I might have another new hair care routine by next month! But this chatty post is long over-due as I haven’t spoken about hair-care brands since 2013.

My hair is in amazing condition at the moment if I do say so myself and I hope it stays that way!
As I mentioned earlier, I really hope I don’t suffer with too much postpartum hair-loss! I’m trying to prevent it with the GRO serum and supplements, so, fingers crossed!
The first photo of my hair is after a whole day out and about and I hadn’t brushed it since the morning. And the second photo is my hair freshly washed and blow-dried on another occasion.
I’m always on the lookout for hair-care brands to try, so if you have any recommendations please do leave your suggestions in the comments below.

Hope you’re all doing ok and hanging in there with our fourth heat-wave of the year here in the UK!
On a separate note to hair-care. I’m really concerned about the state of our world and our global warming situation.
I’ve been really interested in helping our environment ever since I watched a documentary on Netflix a few years ago – it was a David Attenborough one.
I dread to think about my daughter’s future with the state of the climate and how hot the weather will be in ten years time. Change needs to happen!
The government and every single soul in the world should be working together, as it seems to be only getting worse and worse.
It truly makes me sad, so, I am spreading a little message on my blog.
Also, I did write about some environmentally friendly changes you can make – “12 Sustainable Swaps” written back in 2022. If you’re interested please give it a read. I will most likely write an updated post on my thoughts and some other changes we can do when I get a spare moment.

ANYWAY, sorry to change the subject and put a downer about climate change on the end of this post, but I think it’s extremely important to highlight. And, it has been weighing heavy on my mind.
I will leave this here and go make my myself a cuppa tea as I began writing this at 8am and it’s just gone past half nine!
Do let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think of them! Catch up soon. Ciao ciao.
Your hair looks amazing in the photos! I’d really recommend Kérastase shampoo & conditioners if you fancy a change but maybe stick with what you’re doing because your looks great! x
