During pregnancy I was seriously overwhelmed with what to buy and what not to buy! So I have simplified what you actually need, the core essentials.
Before I dive in to chat about the products, I’m seven weeks postpartum and I am loving the newborn bubble. It was challenging at first while I was recovering from a c-section and adjusting to “new life”, but I felt like I recovered pretty well and to my surprise quite quickly. I understand that this is not always the case for cesarean surgeries and everybody is different, however, I had an extremely positive experience post birth.
On another random note, It was also rather relaxing creating a mood-board for the first time in years! I used to create these back in the day on my blog, in the 2015 era. Although my photoshop skills are a little rusty these days, but I’ll always be a Designer at heart even though it’s no longer my career!
Any who, let’s have a little natter about the products that I find life-changing and use every single day. For ease I’ve included a few links (not affiliated).
Feeding
I tried breast feeding and pumping here and there but it stressed me out a lot and with Alessia being born with teeth it was super painful, so I found the Momcozy breast pumps ideal. Although, in the end I didn’t use them that much. I mostly stuck with formula feeding and have continued so. I am currently feeding Alessia with organic Kendamil which was recommended to me from another mum.
The items that have been amazing before feeds are the Tommee Tippee Ultra UV 3-in-1 Electric Steriliser & Dryer, rapid cool Nuby’s and ÜneeQbaby PerfectTemp Baby Bottle Maker. I’d be lost without these. I sterilise the Tommee Tippee baby bottles, soothers and the Nuby’s before use. The kettle is amazing for boiling at the right temperature and staying like that for 24 hours. We then use the Nuby to cool down or we put the made bottle in a bowl of cold water and leave for twenty minutes or so. It’s always good to have some pre-made formula on the go too!
ALSO…. Muslins, muslins, muslins! Stock up! We have around twenty five, perhaps a tad overkill but we use about 5 or more a day!
Sleeping
We are so happy with our Snuzbaskit which stays in the living room! We also have a Snuzpod which she sleeps in, in our room. I love the design of both of them. For when she is six months and older we have a Mama’s and Papa’s cot in her bedroom.
The Dream 2 Me swaddles are bloody brilliant, Alessia sleeps so peacefully in these! They are expensive though, at nearly thirty quid a pop! We also love Ewan the sheep, which was kindly gifted to us from our baby shower and we also adore the Dreamegg White Noise Machine.
Changing
The Mama’s and Papa’s baby changing station is in use multiple times every day! For when we are out of the house, we tend to use our portable changing mat. We have also changed Alessia in the pram when we’re out and about too.
Nappy talk! When it comes to nappies, we haven’t actually tried many nappy brands apart from Pampers. These have been incredible! We rarely get any leaks. They aren’t perfect though, as we have stained some outfits, however, the M&S Stain Removing Wipes get the stains off in an instant!
Out and about
I cannot recommend the Nuna Swiv bundle with car-seat, push-chair and bassinet enough! The pram is so lightweight and lovely to push around. The car-seat has been fantastic too, although Alessia isn’t always so keen on it! I don’t blame her though, I wouldn’t like to be constrained!
Both sets of grandparents gifted us this bundle which we were so thankful for as pram bundles are so expensive!
The Finnson FREYA Eco Oversized Stroller Organiser has been great too! It attaches to the pram and looks super stylish!
I did purchase a Rokit for the pram, but it’s a bit hit and miss with Alessia. Some babies love the rocking motion, ours does not!
Others
Other things that have been life-changing are the Frida Baby Nose Sucker and 3-in-1 Picker, Water Wipes, Eco-friendly Nappy Bags, Baby Monitoring Cameras, Angelcare baby bath, a nursing chair in Alessia’s room, Snooze-shade pram cover, black and white sensory items, Baby Bjorn carrier, Tummy time play-mat and roller.
Hope this has been somewhat helpful to any mum’s to be or new mums! I know the advice for new mums can be so overwhelming, but you don’t need to buy EVERYTHING, just the core essentials.
Also, I’m trying not to overload my blog with pregnancy and postpartum content but it’s all my brain is consumed with at the moment, so apologies if you’re sick of the pregnancy and baby content.

It has been really nice to have a little escapism and be creative and write while daddy D is on duty. I will continue to do a mix of content from beauty, life-style, travel and baby related stuff when I get a spare mo.
As always any questions, drop a comment below and I’ll get back to you! Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend and catch up with you all soon!
One last thing, if there is any content you wish to see from me do let me know. Ciao, ciao.
I want all the pregnancy/PP/baby content!! Love it. Not a mom yet but hopefully in the near future.
