Summer Beauty & Lifestyle Loves

My lovely little one arrived three weeks early from her due date, so things have been a bit full on in recent weeks! As well as recovering from a cesarean section!

Baby girl is full of a cold and blocked nose at the moment, which is really scary at ten days old but we’re having lots of cuddles and trying to tackle it with a sexy snot sucker and other measures.

The sleep deprivation has been really hard as well, however Joe and I are working well as a team to ensure we both get some much needed rest. Anyway, Joe is currently on baby shift, so I’m having some much needed “me time” to write about my Summer Beauty and Lifestyle Loves while watching the Queens tennis final.

Pregnancy related content will resume for a few months or so. However it’s nice to break it up with some beauty brand shout-outs every now and again.

Everything you see in the snaps has been purchased by moi, minus the Vegamour GRO Hair Serum which I was kindly gifted a little while ago.

Let’s have a little natter about my Summer Beauty Loves…

A few hair care products that I’ve been really enjoying recently are WOW Hair Dream Coat, Vegamour’s GRO Hair Serum and ORIBE Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil.

I’ve used Dream Coat and ORIBE Hair Oil before and I don’t know why I stopped using them to be honest! Dream Coat is amazing for de-frizzing curls before a Dyson blow-dry and the ORIBE Hair Oil smells incredible, a very rich scent that makes me feel on cloud nine. The scent is quite strong, so I’m avoiding it post birth at the moment, but will be nourishing my locks when I can.

I’m also a tad worried about loosing my hair again, as it’s super common postpartum, so I’ve been using Vegamour’s GRO Hair Serum and taking “new mum” supplements the day after she was born.

I remember back during the golden-olden-blogging-days I used to be utterly obsessed with La-Roche-Posay! I’ve been really loving their SPF 50+ Invisible Fluid, which is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It sits really well under make-up or under my Erborian CC cream.

Always remember to wear your SPF ladies and gents – I stressed the importance of this many years ago!

Another French brand that I have been enjoying after using SPF is Avene! They do some incredible light weight moisturisers that are really affordable. Perfect for Summer temperatures as it’s been HOT HOT HOT in the UK recently!

Two lip-balms that I’ve been loving are Glossier’s coconut balm dotcom, which is really lovely to use and makes my lips super hydrated and soft. Loving the Laneiege lip sleeping mask’s too! I have a couple of these and use every day without fail.

An eye-gel that I’ve been trying to tackle my under-bags with is BYOMA’s de-puff and brightening eye gel. BYOMA is a relatively new brand that I’ve had my eye on. I can’t tell if the eye gel is really making a difference, but it is early days. I do like the cooling sensation of the product though.

One ESPA product that has been so luxurious on my skin is the Yuzu & Ginger Cleansing Sorbet. Oh my gosh, this smells freaking amazing! I really really love the texture of this cleansing balm, it’s quite jelly-like but feels buttery smooth on the skin and cleanses off my make-up beautifully with a cloth. I’ve re-purchased a few times already as I love it so much.

On my beauty wishlist was to try Estee’s ‘Mirror Water’ brand. I’m trialing the body oil at the moment to attempt to feel completely zen after a shower. I will report back my thoughts on this.

Another beauty product that has been helping relax my muscles and keeping me zen is Lush’s massage bar. They do so many variations of the massage bar, but I made sure it was suitable for pregnancy and breastfeeding. This massage bar has quite a strong smell and I do have to have a shower afterwards, so it doesn’t interfere with baby’s breathing.

Some accessories I’ve been using a lot are my accessorize hair-clips – just handy for throwing my hair up when feeding baby and taking care of her.

Elizabeth Scarlett Wash Bag’s are amazing for storing beauty products. I have so many of these and they look really pretty in my bedroom and bathrooms.

Also, my Elizabeth Scarlett Eye Mask has been a life-saver during the day to block out the sunshine and get an hour or two power nap!

Joe surprised me with a push present when we were at home the other day. He treated me to the AirPods Max headphones, which I have been using every day! I listen to a few beats before my naps or just to have a break from looking after baby. They will soon come in handy for silent disco’s around the house when baby is sleeping!

I remember being really into Polaroid, Instax and print cameras when I was around 15 to aged 20.

I have been throughly utilizing my Instax camera this year! I documented most of my pregnancy and have been taking lots of cutesy newborn snaps too. I will be putting them into an adorable baby memories book so we can look back over the years.

I’m really looking forward to Wimbledon and the Women’s Euro’s coming on shortly. As well as making the most of being in my newborn bubble and having Joe’s 24/7 support for 6 weeks before he returns to work.

Blogging may be a little sporadic over the next few months, but I will write when I can. Writing gives me a break away from “baby brain” and to do something I enjoy which is super important.
