Spring is spring-ing! It has been super warm in the UK for this time of year, although, we are due some rain this Bank Holiday weekend. Typical Bank Hols.
I travelled into London a little while ago, which you may have seen on my Instagram. It was the first time I’d actually been into London during my pregnancy, as I’d been a tad nervous about being around big crowds and becoming unwell. I’m sure once baby girl is here and certainly when she’s older, we will adventure into London a bit more. I’m super excited to create some traveling memories with her, not just in Hertfordshire, London and the UK, but taking her to some amazing countries too.
Any who… I digress. 5 Wonderfully Spring things to do in London. With a focus on High Street Kensington and surrounds.
Start the day by taking the tube to High Street Kensington!
Have a stroll around Holland Park
Holland Park is a park I’d never actually been to before, apart from recently. I was in the area heading to the Design Museum and it was near-by, so I wanted to have a little wander.
Inside Holland Park were some beautiful gardens, such as the Japanese Gardens (Fukushima Gardens). A super peaceful and pretty spot inside the park. I saw a few groups have picnic’s in the gardens which seemed like a really great idea! Get those picky bits from M&S and enjoy the serene surroundings!

Tim Burton Exhibition at the Design Museum
I hadn’t been to the Design Museum since my university days, so it certainly took me down memory lane!
I’m not sure how much longer the Tim Burton Exhibition is running for, but it’s an amazing exhibition if you do get the chance to see it. And it’s right next door to Holland Park.

Tim Burton has been involved in so many great films from the likes of some Batman films, Dumbo, Pewee Adventures, Corpse Bride, Alice in Wonderland and even apart of the Netflix Wednesday series. So it was really interesting to see his art-work pottered about. He’s big on Illustration and a surrealist artist which makes him so interesting!
Eat Italian at Jacuzzi
I’m a big fan of Italian foods and I always enjoy going to the Big Mamma Group restaurants. They have really funky decor inside and the loo’s trip is always an experience! The food is usually really lovely too. Although I’ve found some of the other Big Mamma restaurants food standards are better than Jacuzzi as I had slightly undercooked pasta this time. That being said, the garlic focaccia, olives and home-made lemonade were amazing!

Wander around the streets of Notting Hill
If you enjoy walking, head from High Street Kensington to Notting Hill Gate. And if you’re thirsty, stop at Blank Street Coffee for an Iced Matcha or Iced Tea.
Notting Hill is known for their Carnival’s every year, but it’s also lovely to wander around during Spring. There are so many cherry blossom trees in sight and lots of independent restaurants and shops too.

Chill in Kensington Gardens
After spending some time around Notting Hill Gate, make your way to Kensington Gardens. A huge park that leads onto Hyde Park (usually great for Winter Wonderland in December) or you can tail off into Knightsbridge to stop off at Harrods to check out the incredible food hall if you’re feeling peckish.
We enjoyed chilling in Kensington Gardens for an hour or so after doing about 20k steps already that day!

So, that’s 5 wonderfully Spring things to do in London if you need a bit of inspo!
I do love London for walking about from place to place and in today’s blog post the areas covered are Kensington High Street, Notting Hill Gate, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and Knightsbridge. Optional to walk around Chelsea too. Or wander over to Battersea.
I don’t like taking the stuffy tube often, I try to do as much on foot as possible. And walking is free! I will say it was a lot more challenging to do this much walking when you’re heavily pregnant, but I did manage ok with lots of breaks in between.
If you’re interested in my London posts, I’ve written a bunch here.
I’m trying to write more London content as I have explored so many areas in the past and I used to live there briefly, however, I moved back to Hertfordshire after university. And, I’m trying to keep this ‘5 Wonderfully things in London’ series alive – I started the series in 2023, focusing on Autumn, but I have the other seasons to do still! Well, I can tick Spring off the list at long last!
Wow, these really do look like wonderful things to do. How exciting to attend the Tim Burton exhibit and that café you went to looked so good. London looks so charming. You are living your best life!
