My 10 Goals For 2025

I’ve had a relatively slow start to January and now I’m ready to get stuck in.

2025 is the year of decorating for me. I’m trying to get everything ready for the arrival of our little one in the Summer. I’ve set myself ten goals, which I’m trying to achieve for the first six-seven months, as I know my priorities will shift onto baby duties for the remainder of the year.

Declutter every room

First things first, I’m doing a mass de-clutter in January and February. I have tons to sell on Vinted and I need to do a fair few charity runs.

Paint and decorate the baby’s room

We’ve started decorating the little one’s room already this weekend and hopefully the walls will be painted today. Once that’s done, we will look into buying the furniture and all the bits and bobs we need.

Paint the downstairs and upstairs hallway

We have also made a start on this! Just need to paint the walls today or tomorrow if we get time. Then in a few weeks time we will be replacing the carpet with something more neutral.

House Extension

Our house extension is *fingers crossed* hopefully going to start in February. We’re just waiting for our architect to submit everything with the council and then we can get the ball rolling. Hoping the job completes before Summer – but we shall see.

Re-style and decorate the kitchen

While we are doing the extension, we thought we may as well rip out the kitchen and re-style it as the builders will need to put a door in there, which will lead onto the extension. We haven’t looked at kitchens yet, but it’s on my radar.

Babymoon

I don’t know if this counts as a goal, however, it’ll most likely be our last holiday abroad for a while. We’re planning to go to the Canary Islands as it’s not too far and it’s going to be warm. I just wanted a nice all-inclusive relaxing holiday as I’ll be about 20 something weeks when we travel.

Learn the Science of Nutrition

I’ve been really interested in nutrition for years and I bought a book last year and I didn’t get round to reading it, so I’m aiming to read and educate myself about nutrition over the next few months.

Daily walks

I’ve been really good with keeping up with my daily walks. As I’m pregnant I have been averagely walking around 7-8000 steps this January. It really does vary though!
It’s nice to get fresh air and break up the day with a dog walk or two. I also enjoy a solo walk or a chatty stroll with a friend.

Keep up with the exercise routine

At the moment I’ve been sticking to less intense exercise such as the exercise bike or treadmill walks. Or just walking outside for thirty minutes or so. I do want to get back into yoga, swimming and perhaps reformer pilates to keep my workouts varied. As well as this, the workouts on Apple fitness are great, they do dedicated pregnancy workouts.

Prioritize self care

I’m trying to be as relaxed as possible before the arrival of the little one, so I’d like to have a few spa days and prioritize looking after myself with face-masks, painting nails and making sure I stay on top of my skin-care routine, as I have been slacking a lot recently.

So that’s my ten goals for 2025! It’s going to be a jam-packed year with all the house improvements and the baby coming in July, but I’m really excited as 2025 is going to be a life-changing year for Joe and I.
