I celebrated becoming thirty five on Halloween, so Joe and I took a little 24 hour trip to Bath at the weekend.
Joe was feeling really poorly and we couldn’t re-schedule, so we made our way to our stay at The Bird, Bath. Which is just over a two hour drive from Hertfordshire.
I’m now full of cold, headachy and our heating is up the creek, so I have been taking it easy this week and using my dog as a hot water bottle at every opportunity.
We had a very chilled weekend, stayed in bed, watched Harry Potter, ate some lovely food and had a mooch around the city centre. The fallen crunchy golden leaves made me smile on our walk.
The hotel…

The Bird, Bath was so lovely to stay at for one night, it was dog friendly so that won me over when looking for hotels in Bath. It’s beautifully decorated, the bed was super comfy and I liked all the little touches they left in the room to make my birthday special.
The food…
We got a package which included a £70 credit for dinner and breakfast included the following morning. Joe couldn’t stomach anything as he was so unwell, however, I tried to make the most of the £70 credit. The food was really tasty!

Exploring Bath…
Bath is such a beautiful city and where the likes of Bridgerton was filmed. If I was without our dog I would have most likely visited the Roman Baths and gone to some more restaurants and cafes. However, I did enjoy an hour walk around before heading home. I remember when we visited Bath for my 29th birthday we went to this amazing pizza place named Dough. I wrote about our Bath trip back then on the blog, I also vlogged it too. I do miss vlogging a little bit as it’s nice to look back on the memories every now and again. Anyway I digress…

I stumbled across a Mr Doodle postbox in the city centre too. I’m a big fan of his work!
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that I massively appreciate these little staycations and breaks away to celebrate with my little family. I’m not one to throw huge parties for my birthday, I don’t mind little low-key-get-togethers with friends or family, but this year has been a little different. This time of year always tends to make me relatively anxious as I’ve been in and out of hospital through-out the years and I’ve missed seeing a lot of friends this year mainly due to my anxiety but we’ve also had an incredibly busy year with some exciting things brewing.
I’m slowing down for the Winter season. Looking forward to some cosy and chilled weekends at home. Hope you’re all doing well and looking forward to the upcoming festive season!
I adore Bath. We were only there two weeks ago and we had the best time!
