My Honest Thoughts on Rare Beauty

Rare Beauty Review of Liquid Blushers and Enlighten Highlighter

Selena Gomez launched Rare Beauty in recent years and it was one of the only celebrity brands I was genuinely excited to try!

Selena and the Rare Beauty team are doing wonderful things for the mental health community making a ‘Rare Impact’ breaking down the stigma of mental health. As well as producing some incredible make-up.

I was really intrigued by the liquid blushers and the highlighters, which I purchased from Space NK around 8 months ago. To be honest, I haven’t been purchasing that much beauty in recent years, as I don’t wear a lot of make-up anymore, most days you’ll find me fresh-faced or with a little bit of eye make-up. However, I do like wearing a full face every now and again.

Anyway, surprisingly I didn’t have any cream blushers in my stash, I have always been a powdered blusher kinda gal. So, I thought I’d give the liquid blushers a go as I’d heard good things.

Also… Sorry for the seriously delayed blog post, I’ve had quite a lot to juggle the past year.

Rare Beauty Review of Liquid Blushers and Enlighten Highlighter

I bought Happy, Joy and Hope liquid blushers and the Enlighten highlighter.

Wearing Hope Liquid Blusher

The blushers are super creamy and HIGHLY pigmented, you really don’t need much on your cheek, I’d say you need slightly larger than a pea-sized amount.
Also, they are super easy to blend and they last all day, without any touch-ups needed.

‘Happy’ is a beautiful soft pink. ‘Hope’ is a nude, slightly mauve. And ‘Joy’ is a peach shade.

I tend to wear ‘Happy’ the most out of the three, which is what I’m wearing in the selfie above. However, it depends on which lippy I’m going to pair with that day. ‘Hope’ does also get a lot of use as it’s very neutral. I can pair ‘Hope’ with most of my nude lipsticks.

I have to be honest, I don’t wear ‘Joy’ that much, I don’t reach for coral-orange tones anymore, which is a shame as the shade is really pretty. 2014 Zoey would have favoured ‘Joy’ of the bunch.

‘Joy’ would pair beautifully with orange-red toned lipsticks. I’m not that bold with my lippy choices these days! However, a part of me wants to do my old school signature red lip and coral blush at some point soon.

Rare Beauty Review of Happy Liquid Blusher

Anywho, the liquid blushers give you that beautiful fresh dewy look. Like you’ve just come back from a little run and you’ve got flushed cheeks.

The blushers have become a staple in my make-up routine! Honestly they are the only blushers I tend to reach for when I want to do a full face of make-up.

I’m also really impressed with the highlighter. Enlighten is described as a cool champagne shade. It’s very soft, a little shimmery and super pigmented. It is stunning!

I also wanted to touch on the packaging. It’s very minimalistic, clean and classic, which I love. I do like the little embossed ‘R’ on the top of the boxes too. As for the packaging of the products, I love the design of the liquid blushers.

I’m really impressed with the quality of the Rare beauty products. It feels like a lot of thought and care has gone into producing them. The pigmentation is truly amazing!

I’d be really keen to try a few more Rare Beauty products, the tinted lip oils and glossy lip balms sound really lovely.

I’ve tried her foundation, primer, setting spray, liquid blush, powder highlighter, liquid liner and mascara and pretty much love them all! I want to try one of her powder blushes. That liquid blush looks beautiful on you! x

I’ve tried their tinted lip oil and liquid blush, but wasn’t too impressed. The lip oil surprisingly made my lips more chapped, and while the liquid blush is alright, it didn’t wow me. Great to hear your thoughts on the highlighter though! xx

Ooo I have to say these look REALLY good and this pink color looks so nice on you. There is a Sephora about 5 blocks from my apartment. I will have to pop in there next weekend and try this out. Maybe I will try one color on each cheek!
