Well… it’s been a while since I last posted hasn’t it? I honestly didn’t mean to take an unexpected break. I had so much planned for June on my blog. However, life has been ‘full on’ at times.
It’s actually been rather lovely taking some much needed time off my blog and social media. I mentioned earlier on the gram that I feel I no longer need to post things ‘immediately’, if life is life-ing (not a word, but hey ho), then I should enjoy those moments and not feel the pressure to post everything as soon as it happens.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sharing snippets of my life. However, I think sometimes some people forget that you see a small portion of someone’s day and sometimes those are the very best moments in someone’s day. I have always tried to show ‘real life’ and my ‘real emotions/feelings’ whether that’s in the caption or with photo’s, or writing how I’m feeling on here.
On the other hand, I am quite artsy, so my photo’s can be beautifully curated at times. But most importantly, I am very open and honest and if I’m having a shit time, you will know about it. I don’t share absolutely every detail of my life though. Some things I keep to myself because I simply don’t feel comfortable (yet or probably never will) sharing past traumas, those things/experiences I have deeply buried away and don’t like to talk about unless I’m in therapy and I’m being asked to talk about my life lol.
ANYWAY, that was a big old ramble wasn’t it!
Summer Beauty Favourites…
Well, these were actually Spring favourites. But rolling onto Summer and I still love them all.
I’ll try and keep this short and sweet but no promises or anything… I am LOVING Diptyque’s Rose Fragrance as well as Jo Malone’s Peony and Blush Suede. I haven’t worn perfume in about two weeks though, as my senses are really heightened at the moment. Hopefully it will pass as I love my perfumes!
WOW Hair Dreamcoat for Curly Hair is bloody incredible. How have I not tried this brand before?! I’m running quite low so need to buy another.
Another fave has been WILD’s boobie deodorant case and their interesting scents, I think the scent I have is chocolate.
Summer Friday’s lipbalm/gloss – I have been reaching for this almost every-day for about four months.
No surprise here but Sunday Riley’s Vitamin C serum and moisturiser. Although I haven’t been able to use the past 10 days and counting due to being conscious with chemicals on my skin during this time. I know it’s mainly Vitamin A which is a big no no, but I’m just being careful until I have my blood test in five days time. I have bought some special (no scary chemicals) skincare which I will share on the blog eventually if things go well…
I have been sleeping very well lately. Which is a blooming miracle as I don’t think I’ve had a full night’s sleep for about four or five years lol. I think it’s because of Sunday Riley’s pillow mist. Which I also purchased for my grandad because he has been struggling with sleeping the past year too.
And lastly, I’ve really been enjoying this super fancy hair oil that I got in a Liberty beauty drop box a while ago. Charlotte Mensah Manketti Hair Oil. Smells bloody amazing.
And that’s it… beauty wise!
Non-beauty favourites…
I have been of course been loving Wimbledon and women’s/men’s England football matches (What can I say… I grew up being very sporty).
I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix, Prime and Disney+. TV show’s and films. Binge watched all the Harry Potter films (my comfort films lol), and I finally binge-watched all the ‘After’ films in one day haha. I loved the story… sucker for lovey-shit at the moment haha. Had an odd moment to watch 500 days of Summer a few days ago too.
I quite enjoyed The Real Bling Ring Hollywood Heist, how an earth did these entitled kids get away with so much theft?! Crazy shit. Queen Charlotte on Netflix was AMAZZZZING – I think I preferred this to Bridgeton, I mean I still love Bridgeton but Queen Charlotte was just 11/10. Stutz is a very good documentary as well as The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. Also made my way through Dubai Bling, Ginny & Georgia S2 (FINALLY), The Witcher S3 and the latest Selling Sunset. The Kardashians on Disney+ has been my guilty pleasure haha.
I still have about 100 other TV/Film things to catch up on. But getting there slowly…
I saw Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 in the cinema a little while ago too and I cried about ten times. I’m planning to see Barbie soon with some of my lady friends.
I’ve been listening obsessively to Harry Styles since seeing him live in June. I think I have a thing for Harry… I get the attraction now. He’s younger than me though… not that it is a red flag lol. But he’s just got a beautiful smile and is SO nice to everyone, and quite funny too…. and I like his current hair. I can admire from a distance (Sorry husband).
What else…. I’m craving random childhood foods I used to have, such as bananas and custard, creamy prawn rolls from Simmons (not a childhood thing but just a craving), and veggie lasagna. Oh and lots of pineapple lol.
My fingers are actually hurting from typing all of this, haha, I’m so out of practice. So on that note, I think it’s time to publish and continue watching Wimbledon.
One final thing before I dash, I need to catch up with everyone’s blogs… if I have some energy today or tomorrow expect some comments from me!
We’re all about the low-pressure posting here! I think the advent of social media platforms and things like Instagram Stories has forced us to feel like it has to be instant or it doesn’t count? But I’ve always treated my blog a bit like my paper journal – somewhere to keep a record of my life, whenever I may feel ready or have time to. Always happy to log in and see a new post from you, anyway!
Gosh, I forgot how much I adored Jo Malone’s Peony and Blush Suede – it always reminds me very specifically of summer 2015!
And, I’m SO behind on all things Disney+ and Netflix. I finally started watching Grey’s Anatomy for the first-ever time a month or two ago, and it’s taken over my life. I did squeeze in Black Mirror and my weekly The Kardashians viewing though 😉

Yeah I feel like that has become the norm too! I’m kinda conflicted since Threads got released as I was like ooooh shiny new platform that isn’t like Insta but brings back so many memories of like MSN/Habbo Hotel/AOL/Myspace etc, but now I have fallen back into old habits and am spending too much on my phone again.
I think that’s a really good way of looking at things, I really like looking back on old posts I’ve written and just remembering moments during each year because I do have a terrible memory sometimes.
I’ve never seen Grey’s Anatomy, I do want to watch it at some point. I’ve heard about Black Mirror too, my husband watched it years ago… and I was a bit disturbed when he told me about the pig thing, so I didn’t end up watching it. That reminds me I need to watch last week’s Kardashians… but currently watching Wimbledon.

Love your favourites, I agree completely about Harry styles, although slightly weird for me as I’m old enough to be his grandma!! I used to wear Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede for a few years but sadly I used it one day and had the worst migraine known to man, and since then I couldn’t spray it without feeling sick, so it went to my mum who also loves it, but I was so sad as I adored it. Love to find new things to watch so I shall write down your recommendations, I watched Inside Man recently and thats really good if you haven’t seen it. Loved this post, Zoë x
