A trip to margate for my grandad’s wake, moving house, welcoming neighbours, the Euro’s, Wimbledon and binge watching Sex Life and Trying are some of my July joys.
On Friday I have a procedure at the hospital, I’m getting closer and closer to getting my stoma reversed. Which is a relief! Half the time I just don’t give two shits that I have a stoma as I’m healthy, but sometimes it makes me a bit insecure and is a pain in the ass to clean all the frickin’ time! So, hopefully I’ll get the go ahead to reverse it at some point soon.
Other than that, July has been an overall great month! Here’s why:
Moving house – we weren’t sure if we were going to move as our buyers threatened to pull out three times, but we did! And we love it here! Best decision we made this year.
Welcoming neighbours – our neighbours have been SO lovely, one brought round flowers not once, but twice! And the other side made brownies and hot drinks!
Buying home-ware bits – I treated Joe and I to some gorgeous home-ware bits from West Elm, Anthropologie and Made!
Japanese and Indian takeaways – We had two glorious take aways this month, one from our local Indian restaurant and the other was a Japanese take away, which is a town away from us. SOOOO good!
Living close to Beth & Alex – they made us a vegan lemon drizzle cake and gave a card which was lovely! We also had them round for a roast, the first roast in our new home. It’s so nice having friends close to you.
Margate for my grandad’s wake – We couldn’t have a wake last year due to COVID, however, we decided in the Summer we would have a picnic on the beach. It was lovely seeing family as we hadn’t seen each other since my grandad’s funeral.
Moving home cards from everyone – We had a bunch of moving home cards from friends and family – thank you! Made me smile.
Taking a break from the blog – I had a two week break from the ol’ blog, first time in six and a half years would you believe! All due to moving home.
Tatty Devine sale – An unexpected Summer sale from my fave jewellery brand brought me so much joy. I bought three pieces, which you may have seen on my Instagram!
Euros – I predicted Italy to win, although I would have liked England to have won obviously. Really enjoyed the Euros, watched almost every game.
Wimbledon – I dabbled in and out of Wimbledon this year as the Euros were on. It’s still a dream of mine to go one day and eat strawberries and cream while sipping on pimms.
Marilyn & Emily coming down – Joe’s mum and sister came down and we ended up going to our local pub for a gorgeous roast. Food was incredible! I’m definitely going to go there again.
Sex Life on Netflix – Well, this was a bit raunchy! I loved it though! Binge watched in a couple of days.
Trying season 2 – I’m SO happy ‘Trying’ is back in our lives. It’s about a couple who are going through adoption and it’s heartbreaking and sweet at the same time.
John Mayer’s new album – giving me all the feels.
Decorating the living room feature wall – We finally got round to painting the feature wall in the living room, I bloody love it! Just need to add our mirror and it’s complete.
What’s brought you joy this month?
