Buying flowers to cheer up a family member, a friend’s surprise birthday brunch with lots of prosecco, getting my second vaccination, finding the BEST vegan chocolate and buying Archie’s first puppicino. A few of my favourite joyful moments of May.
May has been a somewhat tough month for me, I had a procedure at the hospital – that was horrific, and my nan isn’t doing well in her care home. I had some really bad mental health days but May has been great too! I’ve spoiled friends and family members with gifts and flowers. I went on a failed attempt of a spending ban, going to try it again in June. And tried lots of amazing vegan meals, including a vegan ‘fish’ finger sandwich.
Anyway, let’s talk about the little joys shall we.
Pizza party with the girls – some of my close girl friends came over in the garden for home-made pizzas and drinks. It was lovely to see everyone and have a bit of girly time.
Procedure at the hospital – Although I said above said procedure was horrific, it is one step closer to getting my reversal of my stoma done. They haven’t arranged a date, but I’m hoping it doesn’t clash with the house move. Also Joe surprised me with a gorgeous bunch of flowers when he picked me up from the hospital, what a sweetie!
Seeing Beth, Alex and Mae-Grace and an old friend Crofty – It was lovely popping round my friend’s garden a few weeks ago to celebrate Beth’s birthday. I bought her a tatty devine necklace which I hope she loved! It was also nice to see Kieran and Emma, and Crofty who I haven’t seen in what feels like years.
Trying a plant based nando’s – I had a plant based nando’s and it was glorious!
Beth’s surprise birthday brunch – My girl group organised a surprise birthday brunch for Beth and it was a hit! We had lots of vegan nibbles and far too much prosecco. I left my phone in the street outside my friends house, and luckily a lovely lady walking her dog found it and dropped it back off at their house. SO lucky!
Tatty Devine Pick n Mix sale treats and moon ear rings – I decided half way through the month that I would treat myself to two necklaces and some moon ear rings. Tatty treats make me so happy!
Second vaccination success – I’m now officially ‘fully’ protected, well as protected as I can be. I didn’t have any side effects second time round. And Joe’s had his first vaccine now too!
Buying flowers for Joe’s mum – To cheer up my mother-in-law I treated her to a gorgeous bunch of flowers from Bloom & Wild. She’d had a tough week or two, so I thought flowers would be a nice touch. I also ordered some more flowers for her birthday.
Personalised Starbucks confetti cup – I need to drink more water so I ordered a personalised Starbucks cup from Etsy. I haven’t stopped drinking out of it! Best buy of May.
Archie’s first puppicino – We drove to Starbucks for some drinks on a Sunday afternoon and Archie got his first puppicino! Was so cute licking whipped cream out of the cup – he blooming loved it!
Deciding to go fully plant based – I decided after watching several documentaries that I wanted to go vegan and have been ever since. I’ve found the best vegan chocolate, now on the hunt for the best vegan cheese!
What’s brought you joy in May?
Wow, lot of things here! I love a good pizza party. Kudos to you for going vegan. Respect!
Two things that brought me joy are exercising and getting to go out to eat/cinema after a long time.
