It seems like forever since I’ve done a “Coffee Break” post! Last time I did one was back in May! A LOT has happened since then!
First off, the coffee at Abuelo is delightful. They also do amazing brunch options as well as delicious cakes! It’s located near Covent Garden amongst many other beautiful spots to eat and drink.
Any who, I’m just chilling watching Gossip Girl – I forgot how much I enjoyed it. The perfect chick-flick program to have in the background while I type.
So… what’s happened since May? Well… a milestone in our relationship… Joe and I bought our first home together, last July. It’s perfect!
We now live in a little village not too far from London.
As soon as we got the keys, we decorated the two bedrooms right away (with the help of our families), have ordered new sofas for our living room and installed two doors in the hallway, as it was creating a bit of a draft.
We also plan to strip the bathroom and start from scratch. We’ve got an idea of how we want it to look, and hope to start ripping it all apart mid April.
After the bathroom is renovated, we plan to re-paint the living room, hallway and kitchen. It’s all go go go, in the Z & J house hold.
As well as house plans, I’m trying to take it fairly slowly this year, although… it’s hard with a busy mind – my brain is filled with lots of ideas here, there and everywhere. But, this year is all about self care and trying not to put so much pressure on my self.
Last November was challenging for me health wise, I was in hospital for two months, however, I’m now back at home, and with a shiny new job role!
I’m on the same team as I was before and I’m really enjoying it. I like to think of it as a new beginning career wise. I’m no longer doing a design role, however, the role has elements of design in which is a-ok with me!
It’s a step in the right direction, as well as most importantly working for a company that values and supports their employees, which they do. My managers have been nothing but supportive which I’m truly grateful for.
Other than that, this is also the year of travel for me. I wrote a post on where I’d like to travel to in 2019 a few weeks ago. And that’s what I intend to do. Every other month Joe and I are going to travel somewhere new and exciting!
We’re going to be exploring Edinburgh very soon. I’m SO excited to wander around the streets and eat delicious foods.
I hope to travel to Iceland, Orlando, Thailand, Rome and Marrakech this year. Oooh and Maldives too… that would be my dream 30th birthday treat, but I know it’s super expensive so we shall see…
Any who, I’m switching off and watching Gossip Girl for the rest of the day. I’m having a ‘me time’ day if you couldn’t tell. Netflix, writing and chill day, oh yes!
Hope everyone is having a great week! Only 3 days till the weekend, woop woop. What are your plans? Let me know in the comments below.

Congratulations on your new house! My boyfriend and I just bought our first apartment in November, so I know how exciting, but also stressful this can be. Taking it slow definitely seems like a good approach for the moment. And your travel plans sound absolutely amazing!

You must be having fun. Sorry to hear about your two months in hospital, glad you’re feeling better. I really enjoyed this post, I feel kind of nosy but I like it haha.
