I’ve got that wanderlust feeling once again. Well… to be frank I keep seeing my friends and family explore the world on the gram and got a little jelly.
I’m the one who didn’t do a gap year of travelling when I was back at university, or after I graduated. Forever kicking myself for not exploring the world in my mid twenties.
Joe (my hub) and I have been to some pretty epic countries, the likes of Canada, Paris, Thailand, San Francisco, Santorini and New York to name a few. However, there’s always a little hole burning inside of me that I need to see and explore more places, so without further a do, here’s my list of countries/counties that I’d like to visit in 2019.
The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is one of those places that I’ve seen crop up on my Insta time and time again. I’d love to explore the villages surrounding The Cotswolds – it looks breathtakingly (is that even a word, Zoey?!) beautiful. Somewhere me and Joe could do for an extended weekend in Spring or Summer.
Koh Samui/Chiang Mai
I’m a HUGE fan of Thailand, Joe and I visited the beautiful island back in 2012 and loved every moment of it (hands down one of my favourite countries I’ve visited). Although, I’ve been told it’s more commercialised now – which is a shame. However there are parts of the country I still want to see – I’d love to explore Koh Samui for more of a relaxing break and then travel to Chiang Mai to explore more of the jungle vibes.
Edinburgh
Edinburgh has been on my bucket list for absolute ages! Joe and I are thinking of going here with some family for an extended weekend this year. The streets look absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to see it in all it’s glory!
Iceland
Oh how I dream about Iceland every year, I hope 2019 is the year that I can experience its beauty. The crystal caves, the northern lights and the blue lagoon – sign me up please!
Florida
I explored Florida/Orlando when I was twelve with my grandparents – I have such fond memories of that holiday! Disneyland and Animal Kingdom were my faves. And, I made some Canadian friends along the way too.
I’m dying to go again as they have a Harry Potter theme park at universal studios and loads of new rides at other theme parks! Eeeep, yes I’m still young at heart!
Maldives
Ah, the ultimate dream holiday, right?! Maldives has been on my list for years! Although I keep putting it off as it’s SO expensive. Maybe for my 30th I’ll get to go but who knows!
Sweden
Joe and I are going to be exploring a little bit of Sweden for a friend’s upcoming wedding which is rather exciting! We’ve briefly been to Malmo whilst we were exploring Copenhagen back in 2017, so yeah, rather excited to experience a Swedish wedding and see a bit of Malmo once again!
Harrogate
Harrogate is a beautiful quaint county up north. I’ve had my eye on it for ages! It’s home to many beautiful parks and the afternoon tea is supposed to be delightful. What more could a girl want?! Fresh air, exploring nature and sweet treats. Perfection in my eyes.
Sometimes you forget how many beautiful places there are in the UK. So this year I want to make sure I’m visiting somewhere new every other month!

Manchester
I can’t believe I’ve never explored Manchester – it’s supposed to be quite like London but cheaper to live. It has a great night life as well as loads of stuff to explore during the day. Ohh and it’s great for a bit of retail therapy!
Rome
Rome has been on my bucket list for ages! It looks so beautiful and there are many sights and exhibitions to see. The food looks incredible too!
Marrakech
Last but by no means least, Marrakech has been on my places to visit for a good while. It looks so vibrant and the weather is supposed to be really good too!

Ooh if we get time, i’ll definitely check out Gothenburg (kinda reminds me of Batman, ha) – thanks for the recommendation!

One word: Rome. It is a city unlike any other. I don’t like to use that term a ‘must see’ because I feel it pressures people, but if there is one city that I think it is a must see, that’s definitely Rome. From your list- I’d personally love to visit Iceland. I just read Snowblind, a thrilled novel set in Iceland (written by an Iceland author) and I just want to get there asap.
Lovely photos btw!

And thank you :).

Manchester definitely has a lot of options for nightlife but I seriously wouldn’t recommend it for living! It might have changed but it a few years ago it was a very scary place.

Ah really, that’s a shame! I thought it was a nice vibrant city where everyone spoke to each other.

Iceland is high on my list and so is Thailand. I’m heading there in June so will add Chiang Mai to the list. I do love the jungle vibes.

Ahh amazing, hope you have a lovely time!

Edinburgh is my favourite city ever! I can highly recommend a visit. Chiang Mai is equally wonderful. If you make it over there, I recommend a visit to The Sticky Waterfalls. They are really incredible and – as far as I know – not in most tourist guides. Iceland has been on my bucket list for ages too! I am hoping to make it a reality in the next few years.

Thank you – I hope I get to see most of them – some will probably fall in 2020 though as my list is rather long, ha.

Lots of great places on this list! I’ve been to a few, but yes, that feeling of needing to travel more, more, more never goes away it seems! I’m always daydreaming about where we’ll end up next. 🙂
